solved my problem
i bought this for my 2002 Yukon, i had this humming noise coming from the sub and i though i didnt ground the amp correctly so after much trouble shooting, i decided to try this out and hook it up the back of the stereo, which is a pioneer double din and it made the humming stop and with out losing any bass what so ever.i did by a noise filter for the amp but it killed all my thump. so this works great.

this is crap
This is piece of crap and didn't help at all!
Alternator noise was still there.
However, after i got disappointed with this product then i bought Stinger SGN20 Ground Loop Isolator and they worked like a charm:
My setup: Volvo 245DL, Pioneer Stereo, Kenwood kac-8405 amp, 2 polk audio 6.5" and 2 polk audio 4"

Let me preface this with the fact that I've installed noise filters in many vehicles, so I do know what I'm doing. My experience has been that a significant number of filters are faulty right out of the box - and in this case, both of the Scosche ones I purchased did not work. Considering how cheap these were, I simply consider it a small price to pay to learn to avoid this brand.

I have this item with an wired FM Ipod adapter, works great. It should not affect the quality of your music at all, it only eliminates electrical noise coming through your system, it should not even be connected to sound cords, only to your power source.

I have one of these units and tried it on two of my cars. In both cases, it had absolutely no effect on suppressing the engine noise.

Sure this does suppress ground loop noise between your head unit and your amp, but it also destroys the actual music signal too: suddenly the music only goes about 1/3 as loud as before, and most of the midrange and bass is simply gone.
Thank God I bought this from a local store and could get a refund in a snap!
