This is the finest tire gauge I have used
This is the finest tire gauge I have used. The dial is very easy to read and the accuracy is right on. I have compared this gauge to 3 professional gauges and there has been 1/2 pound variance. I bought this to monitor tire pressure on a new automobile, have altered the pressure to obtain the best ride characteristics and check the tire pressure each week. I had a digital gauge that was accurate but the reading would go off after 10 seconds. This Accu-Gage locks in the reading til you press the release button. I am not a fan of the swivel angle chuck but no matter because the pressure reading holds until release. I would recommend buying the rubber guard that is available. I did not but it is in my 2DayDeliver cart now.

Precision vs. A Hundred Little Revisions
My experience with tire pressure gauges began with pencil-type gauges at age five, when Dad taught me to take multiple samples to estimate an idea I would later identify as precision.
Up until I purchased this gauge last year, I was still using pencil gauges, and making do. When I had to replace the performance tires on my new Scion, and I realized just how much it meant to me to get life out of my tires, I decided it would be worth investing in a more precise gauge.
I've never used a digital gauge, so my only reference point for comparison is pencil gauges. For a reasonable price, the Accu-gage does just what it should-gives accurate, precise measurements. Precision is easy to see for yourself-once user error is eliminated, you can keep taking readings with no detectable variation. The display is clear and easy to read. I got the rubber guard for an extra fee, knowing that I'm prone to dropping things and it does give added grip. Accuracy in tire pressure is tough to determine (just what is your gold standard??), but after researching tire pressure gauges I became convinced that this style of gauge is pretty good. Just for fun, I tested my old pencil gauge, and found it was within 1 PSI of the Accu-gage. My only beef is that, just like the pencil gauge, it is tough to get it on right and eliminate user error. Thus, rather than taking a dozen readings per tire, I'm taking three to five.
For the average consumer who probably doesn't even check their tires regularly, this is a waste of money. For those who both check tires regularly and for whom precision and repeatability is important (think how much uneven wear you can generate from a gauge with high variance), I'd recommend this product.

Excellent Tire Pressure Gauge.
Excellent tire pressure gauge. I bought this for use on my vehicles. I am very happy with its performance. It reads accurately, holds the air pressure reading until you clear it with the release valve, Can release air accurately using the release valve, and has a large readable face. This little gauge is solidly built. I did buy the rubberized sleeve to protect the body of the gauge. I expect to have this for many years. I like this more than the electronic gauges due to its simplicity and no need for batteries. I highly recommend.

Solidly built and easy to use
This is a huge improvement over any of my previous tire gauges. It's easy to hold in place without leaking air, pressure measurement is instantaneous and easy to read. I especially like that readings are held until the pressure release button is pressed. That button doubles as an air relief for over inflated tires, so there's no need to guess how much air to let out. The unit is solidly built. It's a bit large in the glove compartment but all its best features contribute to size, so it's hard to complain.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed
Well, it looked nice in the package, but within 2 minutes, the Reset lever shot out of the barrel, and I spent 15 mins looking for it. It seems that the only thing holding it in was some friction from an o-ring, which wasn't enough when checking the pressure on my SUV tires. Classic craftsmanship for sure. This tool holds the record at my shop for earliest demise.

It's very large. I should have checked the measurements. Not the small type. Otherwise great.

Sadly, this company has moved at least some, if not all, manufacture offshore. This particular gauge is now Chinese manufactured.
As a result, after many years experience with Accu-Gage (G.H.Meiser & Co.), I can not think of any reason to purchase this brand over many of its competitors.
Following some extended use of this gauge I will post a follow-up.

This one is like the rest
I have owned several of these gages over the past 15 years. This one is like the rest. A solid gage for a good price = good value.
This particular model as a swivel chuck and a release valve for letting air out when setting air pressure. I always buy the protective boot for these gages. It adds additional protection from drops and rolling around in the trunk or tool box.

seems accurate and well-made
It reads within a couple psi of my older pencil-style gauge; I havent compared it to any other gauges of known accuracy, so I can't speak for its absolute accurace. It appears to be well made though, feels hefty, not too big or too small, and is easy to read. The swiveling feature is nice, so it's easy to read no matter where the valve is.

Great Gauge.....REAL Nice!
Great gauge, completely satisfied!!
Had one of these for years, and years, it always worked great, totally accurate and reliable, had the rubber protective cover for it.
I left it sitting on a rear bumper and lost it!
Purchase the highly protective rubber bumper case made for this gauge, well worth the money!
