Great product. Easy to assemble and gives off great heat. I bought a 20 lb. propane tank steel box and 4 ft type 1 hose for the propane. Drilled a a hole in the box to feed the hose straight up through the bottom of the lantern. So easy to do... and I'm 40 yr old woman!

Works great. This table top patio heater was easy to put together and the pilot light ignites on the first or second click of the igniter every time.
Most reviewers that have given this heater low grades is because it does not put out enough heat. A person has to understand that this heater is only 11,000 BTUs, so you must be fairly close to it to stay warm. I for one, placed it on a small table between two patio chairs about 24" from each chair. It keeps us warm at outside temps down to the low 50's when there is no wind. Any colder than that, or if it's windy, I have no desire to sit outside anyway.
I also run the heater off a 20 lb tank and a adapter hose. The 1 lb bottles would last less than 2 hours on high. The only complaint I have is that there is no cutout in the base for the adapter hose as the pictures show. But it looks great and performs well.

Fair but NOT Phenomenal
Very similar to my previous heater bought at Home Depot (which was sold out). Product arrived and I followed the instructions in setting it up. Became SUPER frustrated when assembly instructions called for "secure regulator holder pre-assembled on the post with burner assemble (G) to the heater housing (H) with the M5 x12 screw (GG), small washer (HH) and M5 nut (II)" (GG), (HH) and (II) WERE NOT IN the prepackaged sealed box of hardware. I looked and looked and had a hard time figuring out what the hell they were talking about until I opened up my old heater (different manufacturer - but almost identical (Chinese knock off???). I tried to canabalize the part in question from the old heater, but it wasn't a fit. As a result I simply ignored it since I was hooking the regulator up to a 3 gallon LP tank. It worked fine without securing it. Overall the unit is not as well constructed as my previous unit. The heat produced is fair but not phenomenal. Hard time believing it puts out 11,000 BTU. Also, old heater came with cover. This one does not. I would have gladly paid more for a heater that produces great heat. Oh well, guess you get what you pay for. Overall Fair but not great. BTW....Customer Service for the manufacturer Hiland sucks...called MLK day to complain about missing part and went to voice mail...which didn't allow me to leave a message BECAUSE IT WAS FULL....what does that tell you?!?

Nice little heater.
It's a nice little heater. I do mean little though. I would love to have a larger version of this type of heater for our back patio, but we (thankfully) have a roof for the patio. Roof is only about 7' tall, which is a no go for a big heater. A smaller version, like this, will have to do. And it does. It sits on a table top, of course, and you really need to be right beside the table to stay warm on a cool night. For that, it does the trick. It's nice down to about 50 degree weather (right next to it). Below that, and you really want a higher output heater. This heater works well and does what it should for an 11K BTU heater, but understand what you're getting. We actually have other higher BTU heater when it gets really cold, but this one serves it's purpose.
Assembly wasn't too bad. The base weight is a bit of a pain, but just turn the whole thing upside down to attach. And if you plan on using it regularly or for more than a few hours at a time, get an adapter so that you can attach it to a 15-20 propane tank. They're cheap and well worth it for this heater. The 1 lb tanks don't last long.

Defective product, Awful tech support, but good customer service...
Easy to assemble. However our heater kept snapping off after 5-10 minutes. At first we thought we got a "bad" set of propane tanks. But a new pack, same problem. Maybe overheating? Turned it on in 20 degree weather, same problem. Contacted AZ Patio Heaters and they were quick to respond with a cryptic fix--3 photos detailing what I should do to troubleshoot the problem. After some googling, figured out I should bypass the anti-tilt switch. Googled again how to do this on this heater (which, oddly, led to a video from AZ heaters...) This fixed the problem, suggesting it was a faulty anti-tilt switch. Suggested I should order a new one from their website, for $12.99! When I balked, they readily sent one by mail. Which arrived quickly. But now I have an anti-tile switch with absolutely no direction how to install...Back to google I go.
So the heater works great, but arrived faulty. Tech support is prompt, but not very user friendly.
But you can't beat the price. You get what you pay for. I now know more about he inner workings of a patio heater than I ever thought I would know!

Excellent product for price
Excellent for price range, easy to assemble, great height for table top, plent of heat for 50-60 degree weather. This product is half the cost of those in box stores. I find no difference in quality.

Once you figure out how to light it - it works great - Follow the tips to get it going!
Review update - I changed this rating from a 1 to a 4 star rating. Originally, I could not get it to light. Here is the tip you need. I called their support line. First, they answer it promptly. Second, they were very nice. Third, the advice was spot on. NOTE: you must turn the dial to Pilot and hold it in over a minute. Time yourself because that is far longer than you think when waiting. Then press the starter. You must push the dial in the whole time for the full minute. Then it lights, Best to do this in the night when it is dark the first time so you can see the spark of the ignitor. After following the advice from support. It lit perfectly and works very nice. I m taking one star off because, it should light easier. That would be a big improvement. Otherwise it puts off nice heat and is nice unit.

great value great atmosphere
A small rust spot has already started where the lid meets the fire bowl. I recommend clear coating this if you want it to withstand the outdoor elements for a long time. We keep ours covered as recommended but in all fairness we living around pensacola forida and the air is salty here. Also you'll need to buy at least 20lbs of fire glass to go with this as the clear glass it ships with isnt even close to doing the job of covering the flame hoop. It fit almost perfectly together save for 1 hole in the fire bowl that was 3/4 of and inch off. We tried and tried to fit it but ultimately decided to delete the screw amd admit defeat. Packaging was ok and prepare to bring some muscle its a bit heavy and awkward. Assembly sans the renagade screw was fairly simple (my wife put it together in 2 hours). All in all we love the look and would buy another one In the future :update f4om the rust spot: it appears that the rust was coming from a screw used in assembly a quick trip to lowes for a stainless screw solved this issue. Another note though, im not sure if its the drinks, the company or just the hours that this thing has run but we've been through some propane expect to buy a bottle every two weeks when used daily however as we found out if u put the flame on max and drink with great friends youll need another bottle the next day.....given we did run it for 10 hours wide open just fyi

My wife loves it!
Very Nice unit! Beats the big unit, I have. Less use of propane. Heat 4 people around the table comfortably. Had a little trouble getting it started and found a wire was unplugged. Fixed it and it work great.
Well built. Even a rounded opening at the bottom to allow use of a 20lb propane tank hose to the unit. This is really a selling point. No need to buy those little cans to run this baby.

Not a fire breathing dragon
Keeps the top of my head and shoulders warm when sitting two and a half feet away and the hood about three feet above me. Southern California temperatures are mild though, definitely would not recommend for full body warmth or even head and shoulder under 55 degrees. Trust me if you feel heat from it 9 feet away, it must be the hot toddy you just drank. Looks nice and does the job I bought it for to knock the edge off the chill. One gallon small bottle propane on high last about an hour with measurable heat output after that you have a flame but not enough pressure or fuel to heat unless your face is within about 10" at an hour and thirty five minutes to two hours on high all propane is gone. Low setting, well if it's warm enough outside that all you need is the low setting you really don't even need the heater just a light sweater.
