Great Knife, made in the USA, good steal.
Great knife, very sharp out of the box, good steal that holds an edge well. After owning this knife or another Ken Onion design, you will probably never go back to another style of knife. The blade shape of this one is very good although it's a bit on the small side. (fits perfectly in jeans with a change pocket). The Ken Onion Leek is probably a better size, but the blade shape is flatter, and slightly different steal. They are both good knives though. The index finger opening action is very easy yet hard to trigger unintentionally.
My only complains of this knife are the studs on the blade for flipping the blade open that way are a bit too large. The size of them makes for easy blade opening, but if you use the clip to keep the blade in your pocket, it tends to catch a bit on them while pulling the knife out. The blade lock works, but is plastic so you have to make sure you don't accidentally toggle the lock on prior to closing the blade...or no more blade lock :). I have heard they do replace it for free though if you are worried about it. I personally never use the lock, and have had no issue with the blade opening unintentionally.

they're a good value. The quality is top notch with two ...
Kershaw knifes are designed to be functional, not displayed. To this end, they're a good value. The quality is top notch with two exceptions. One, the assisted opening function varies between models & even individual knives with the larger knives being more sure. I own all the models from the Chive to the Shallot & the one hand opening feature works about 80% to 90% on all my knives with no hand movement. (The Shallot I own has never failed) With a little flip of my wrist, this goes to 100% even with the Chive. The second problem is a bit more concerning. As mentioned by other reviewers, the closed blade lock is terrible. It's a little plastic pin that is easily broken off. I'm sure they use plastic to protect the edge of the blade but if you forget to take it off before you open the knife or it should slide to the locked position when you close it, it is not going to last long.

For me makes the absolute perfect pocket knife
For me makes the absolute perfect pocket knife. I used to carry the smaller version until my kids got me this one. They had it engraved with Dad and an eagle head. Pretty cool. I Don't particularly like the little thumb studs on a lot of knives to assist in blade opening. Thats why I like this one so well. I prefer using my trigger finger on top of the knife for the blade assist. Personal preference. Both my sons have one and I just got my Grandson one which i had engraved with his name and a pic of a Bass. The only thing that keeps this from 5 stars is the blade lock. It has broke a couple times in the years that i have owned it. Kershaw has promply shipped replacement parts to me no charge.(thanks Kershaw) Great Knife you will not be disappointed.

He goes through knives SO FAST because of work but these work the best for the longest
My journeyman lineman husband is obsessed with these things. He goes through knives SO FAST because of work but these work the best for the longest.... in fact the only reason we had to replace our last one was because it went missing.

I have purchased 2 now. Small but mighty blade. Shapes keeps an efficient edge for a long duration.

Knife is awesome. Good quality and made in the USA. Only reason I gave it 4 star instead of 5 is the blade tip lock. The lock is made of flimsy plastic. I have had the knife for about 4 years and go through 2 a year. I asked kershaw why it is not metal and they said because if it was metal it would damage the blade, Which I disagree with because it touches such a small portion of the blade. With that said, Kershaw will send replacements free of charge.

Nice knife but could use a few tweaks
This is a nice knife from Kershaw. Handsome looks, razor sharp, and blade locks up nice and tight.
This little knife is heavier than you would think it would be. Which makes you aware that it is constructed out of high quality, stout materials.
I had to adjust the pivot screw a few times to get the Speed Safe assisted opening to function properly but once adjusted it flips open with lighting speed.
Kershaw uses some hefty pocket clips on their knives which I dont think is really necessary. Makes the knife much more noticeable when the knife is attached to your pocket and probably adds a little to the weight.
The only thing I really had a problem with that I actually took care of with a file are the thumb studs on the blade. The studs stick out way past the frame which caused the knife to get caught on the inside of my jeans pocket. Now that they have been filed down it is much easier to get unclipped and out of my pocket.
Overall this is a solid knife from Kershaw that is well worth the money.

This knife is amazing! It's my EDC
Can I give this a bajillion stars?!? Seriously. This knife is amazing! It's my EDC, and I absolutely love it. It's like you're gripping buttery steel. It's so soft... and smooth... and swift... it's perfect.
The only bad thing, is that I will never be able to live without yet.

Great Quality Knife
Screwed up and walked into LAX with my 18 year old Kershaw pocket knife. Had to give it up at the security check :( Replaced it with this one, which is a little larger than what I had thought. Seems to never dull.

I use this as EDC when I have to dress up for the office or a night out. Wickedly sharp, fast opening, classy, and large enough for most everyday tasks.Very comfortable in the hand and nice guard to keep if from slipping. I use one of it's larger synthetic handled cousins (Kershaw Clash) when I can dress down.
