Worth replacing CT10
I've been using the Plantronics CT10 since that model came out quite a few years ago. The battery was finally starting to die; the expense of replacing the battery was about half the cost of the new CT14 so I figured I'd just get the new phone. The CT14 has some significant improvements to the earlier version.
1) The big improvement is in sound quality. With the CT10, if you left the dial pad in the dock while on the phone, you'd hear clicking - something related to the charging circuit. This was particularly annoying because if the battery ran out during a long conference call, you had no choice but to leave the phone in the dock. With the CT14, there's no noise whether the dial pad is in the dock or not.
2) The touchpad itself is improved. With the CT10, pushing a button sometimes resulted in a touchtone, but sometimes not. The CT14's dialpad is markedly improved. You still need very small fingers, so those with large fingers may have trouble pushing individual buttons. There's a screen on the CT14 dialpad too, another improvement, and it's backlit so as to be easily read in darkened environments.
3) There is a choice of various ringtones and volumes, another nice improvement.
4) The mute setting on the CT10 left you listening to a repetitive beeping sound. That was very annoying since muting usually means that you're trying to have another conversation during a conference call. Listening to beeping then isn't what you want. The CT14 doesn't have the beeps; rather you simply have a note on the screen telling you that you're muted. Excellent.
5) The phone blinks to advise you that you have messages - this works well with a VoIP system. I use Vonage and the CT14 tells me if I have messages waiting.
Range, comfort, etc., are all very good. It would be nice if we could eventually lose the wire between the headset and the dial pad since I'm always catching the wire on doorknobs and other items as I walk about while on the phone. It was definitely worth upgrading from the earlier model.

Great phone if you don't need call waiting or 3-way calling
I had a Plantronics CT12 for more than 10 years and loved it. But of course it operates at the same frequency as WiFi requiring me to find a clear channel when it randomly selects the same channel my WiFi uses. Not a big deal and I dealt with it. But when I sat on the headset and broke it, I decided it was time for an upgrade and bought the CT14 from 2DayDeliver. It is physically just like the CT12 but is DECT6 and operates a a completely different frequency so no more interference (yeah). All was great until I discovered that I could no longer use my call waiting and 3-way calling features. The FLASH function does nothing if I'm in a call and need to switch to an incoming or if I want to call another party and merge calls with my first call. This is basic functionality which worked fine with my CT12 and every other phone in the house. I contacted 2DayDeliver and they sent a replacement within 24 hours (I love 2DayDeliver) but guess what... the second phone does the exact same thing! This is frustrating beyond belief, but I have no choice but to return both phones for a refund.

Phone seems to work well, but if it's not obvious in the pictures, it's pretty low quality, very basic, and the headset is not durable. It's pretty sad that this is all you get for so much money. Overall it's a decent phone but I wouldn't buy it again simply due to poor value.

Plantronics CT14 good news and bad news
Good news and bad news. . . . I had my first CT14 for something approaching a decade, I think. It finally died. I replaced it a year ago (with the same set purchased on 2DayDeliver). And now it's failing me. Not working, no matter what I do. Fully charged. But still not working. Devoted as I am to Plantronics, I'm not about to spend another nearly $100 to buy the same set--even as this set does absolutely everything I need the phone to do. That is, when it works. So have other customers had problems with this set?

doesn't work after 2 full days of charging. returning ...
doesn't work after 2 full days of charging. returning this piece of junk. Why so many people on here praised this product is beyond me. I have to stop reading reviews on 2DayDeliver. They're bogus reviews.

Plantronics Cordless headset / 80057-11 CT14
I actually bought this for an ex that said she wanted a phone that worked, and would be hands free. First place I looked was 2DayDeliver.com, No surprise, there it was. She received it earlier than stated, and is really enjoying it, It works great (considering that she lives up in the mountains of Tennessee) !!The three hundred foot distance Is pretty accurate also. I have had Plantronics products before, and never had any problems with them.

Cordless phone with headset - works exactly as I had hoped!
I've been using this for about 5 weeks now and I love it! I was looking for a phone with a headset that would let me walk around the house while I'm on conference calls, since I work at home frequently and don't like being tied to my desk - and speakerphone picks up too much outside noise. Here are the pros/cons:
Pros: Headset works great. People tell me I sound great on calls - just as though I were holding a handset. Headset is also very comfortable and fits two ways depending on preference - ear-only ("Bluetooth" style) and headband-style, for those of us less secure using only an earpiece! I have walked all over my house and the headset has not lost connectivity with the base - no buzzing, humming, etc. - works exactly as I had hoped. The phone itself clips to my belt and is small/light enough to clip to a lapel as well (although it does drag it down).
Cons: Because the phone itself is so small, the buttons are tiny and require definite pressure to press! That's actually good, though, because when the phone is clipped to your belt you don't want buttons accidentally being pressed and making noise on the call (or ending it!) - very little chance of that happening. If you've hit a certain age, you will definitely need your glasses to dial a number, etc. because the writing on the small buttons is smaller still, but for me this hasn't been a problem - just something to be aware of.

Not the same quality as in the past
Plantronics phones used to be my favorite but now they just don't last. I have 3 in my home because I enjoy the convenience of the headset and I have used them for about 15 years, starting with the CT 10. The headset in particular is very flimsy and it seems to stop working very quickly- either a break in the line or something wrong with the connector to the phone. I have replaced these with Plantronic head sets, but while these appear to be more substantial, they have mute and sound options that make it difficult to hear over the phone. I have purchased Panasonic headsets and these work better but still don't last that long. My husband and I are both adults and use these phone correctly, so I imagine if this was a household with kids would have a tougher time keeping these working.

... decided to get a new one figuring it'd be better. Not the case unfortunately
Bought it to replace a CT12 I'd been using for years - batter wouldn't hold a charge and I had trashed the headset so I decided to get a new one figuring it'd be better. Not the case unfortunately. Range is fine but sound quality took a serious hit - as other reviewer noted there is a hum or buzz in the background while talking. It doesn't prevent using it but is definitely annoying. I ended up taking the battery and headset from the new phone and put it in my CT12 which I'm continuing to use. A rather expensive battery replacement more or less...

It's a great phone, I've bought it before
It's a great phone, I've bought it before, but a little miffed that for $100. after taxes it arrived with a battery that has clearly been short-lived by sitting in the box for way too long. Even after the required first charge, I don't even get two days of use with it, which is NOT the way a fresh battery works (I know because I've had this phone before and it's a long time before the battery starts underperforming).
