I am a HUGE fan of the Bog Gear shooting products
I have taken the Bog Gear products on a number of big-game hunts -- in particular bear hunts. My son took his last bear using this bog pod and the week after that a buddy of mine used it with his young son who shot a HUGE trophy 6 1/2' bear!! Crazy. But this gear will help you make a clean steady shot time and time again. The ONLY reason I gave this a 4-star rating is because I couldn't stand only having one of these (I originally got it for my son) and decided I wanted one for myself... and of all things, my Bog Pod has a stripped out screw which causes one of the friction clamps to malfunction. As a result - one of the legs is constantly trying to extend itself. Drives me crazy. It was SEALED in the plastic and came this way. For reasons unclear to me, my PRIME membership still doesn't allow me to return this to 2DayDeliver and I was too many months after Christmas (when I received it) to be able to return the item to the 2DayDeliver seller. I have thought about sending it back to the manufacturer... but haven't tried that yet.

Bog Gear tripods are excellent
I am an avid hunter. My ability to be successful at this endeavor has recently been diminished due to symptoms of Parkinson's disease. I recently purchased a Bog Gear Tactical Shooting Tripod on the advice of an expert hunter, so that I could have a reasonable opportunity to fill my Utah premium limited entry elk permit. While practicing shooting with my Ruger .300 Win Mag, it became apparent that I wouldn't be able to hold steady enough for shots much beyond 100 yards, the like of which is extremely rare in hunting trophy class elk. With my Bog Gear tripod, I was able to put a perfect heart/lung shot on a monster 6X6 elk, which was laser ranged at 337 yards. The elk went down with one shot like a ton of bricks, and quite likely never heard the shot that got him. Without my Bog Gear tripod, that shot may well have been impossible for me. This product is not only very well designed, made, and easy to use, it is also more durable than just about any shooting pod I've ever seen. I heartily recommend this product to anyone serious about shooting.

Love the attachments
Worth every penny is you stalk and shoot at distance, use spotting scope or at my kids events with a camera. Love the attachments, took me a while to buy into the cost, but the quality is there. Even used a walking "climbing" stick in steep terrain.

Brilliant for Deer Hunting in long grass
Fantastic product. 360 rotating with adjustable legs and adjustable feet for soft or hard surfaces .
200 yards small targets taken with headshot from the shoulder is now very easy.
I'd insert pics except very discretion would be advised

on 2012-09-12 Bog Gear Shooting Camo Tall Tripod
I have been using a Bog Gear BOG-POD Tripod Shooting and Photography Stick
for several years to hunt in North America and Africa. I decided to purchase another and also decided to upgrade to the Bog Gear Shooting and Photography Camo Tall Tripod
. There were two surprises when I received and unpacked the new tripod. The first was that the Shooting Tripod is significantly heavier than the Shooting Stick. Specs say a pound more. Doesn't sound like much, but this is 40% more than the the Shooting Stick that weighs in at 2.5 pounds; and this adds up when humping after game. The second thing I noticed was a significant mechanical sounding rattle, which is not a good thing when stalking skittish Eastern Cape antelope. It took a few seconds to zero in on the sound - it was the rubber feet on the tripod. They screw out to protect surfaces from the metal spikes on the ends of the tripod legs, but they rattle if not tightened all the way in or out. Coming from the factory the tips were loose and rattled like crazy.
Part of the weight gain is the locking system on the legs, which is completely different from the Shooting Stick. On the Shooting Stick one had to screw each segment of each leg to tighten or loosen the segments for deployment, height change, or storage. Very slow, but obviously saves a lot of weight. Anyone who has used a camera tripod will recognize the locking system on the Shooting Tripod - flip, slip. lock. More bulky, more weight, more to catch on brushes and brambles, potentially more noise during deployment, but very fast. Won't know how bad or good this will be until deer season in South Texas.
Overall, this is a good unit. A bit heavier than I would like, and I have some concerns about noise discipline with the unit. Will know more after my next hunt.

It functions as stated, very adjustable
Not super heavy duty, but it works well so far, too expensive!

Gift for Grandson
Purchased this item to assist my grandson with his hunting. His first day out he was able to get his aim on and it was a successful hunt. Said the Tripod helped alot with keeping the rifle steady while waiting for the right shot.
