Don't know you need it until you get one
To be honest, I know that accushot makes a great product, but was expecting this to be of average quality when I ordered it. I was absolutely floored at the quality and fit&finish of this product. It slid right onto the picatinny rail on my magpul PRS stock with no wobble, and when tightened down was very solid. The threading on this is tight, with very little wobble and the release button for a rapid movement is tight, and releases well. This folds up and out of the way when not in use, the release button for the fold action is very tight and has a very solid and positive lock to it. All the buttons are spring tensioned and silent.
The entire unit is made of metal, so it is a little heavy, but is way lighter then a carrying a sandbag or sand sock, so really its about the net gain in weight reduction that you get with it and not the actual weight of the product.
After your course adjustment with the release button, the bottom turns for precision adjustment. I have heard complaints of it walking your windage off target when turning it, but I have yet to have this problem with it. Mine did come with a metal cap on the bottom that contacts the surface and not a plastic one. So this might be why mine doesn't walk with the metal dragging on the surface less then plastic.
All in all a little pricey, but totally worth every penny I spent. I use this shooting bench, or out in the field and have had no problems at all.

Nice product, way overpriced
One of the only mono pods on the market. Built very well, all steel construction with some nice features, such as a quick height adjust and the ability to fold. It is a simple product, a threaded rod attached to a 1913 rail with a large nut on the bottom you thread up or down to adjust height. I'm over simplifying a bit here, but my point is $100 is way overpriced. $30 or $40 would be more appropriate. I would recommend finding a different solution before I'd spend $100.

Was hesitant. ..but once I received it I quickly was able to justify spending basically $100-buck on it! : ) I installed it onto a 6.5 Ruger Creedmoor....One thing I want to mention....I'm not sure if these come in different "Height Options?? But I had to install a 5-slot .75" Riser to the rail first...On a Positive Note to that I only need to un-scew it about .05" so it's nice and sturdy......recommended!

I got Sunday delivery! Great product, a little long but was my fault. Very good fine tuning and fast deployment.

Great addition to my DMR.
Only bugaboo i have is if you ware a 2 point sling the monopod can adjust itself to the point where it won't come down with a simple button press. This requires you to twist while depressing the button and pulling the monopod down. Which is kinda inconvient from a prone position. But still more convenient than hauling sandbags up to your nest.

Glad I double checked on which size to buy
Just as I expected after doing the research. Glad I double checked on which size to buy, my first choice would have been too short. This one is perfect. Great quality, looks like it will last for a very long time.

Dont waste your money
I give it a 1 star just because that's the lowest I can rate. I put this on a 6.5 creedmor with a muzzle brake and on the 3rd shot with it the swivel broke in half. I assume this was a quality product because of the price and I am very disappointed.

Amazing fit and finish, tight tolerances and smooth movement. The push lock is great and I truly feel that for bench sighting this is the best product to get the most accurate groups.

Knurling WILL remove the paint off your car and finish on furniture on contact. WAY TO ROUGH. I wrapped electrical tape around mine. Looks stupid, but I can use it now without tearing everything up.
