I have the same rest in black and I like it. I use it for cleaning and sighting the rifle bore in. I pull the bolt out, level it to the center of the bulls-eye and then put the scope on to sight it in. Works really good. I also use the rest for cleaning. I don't think it was meant to live fire with, especially a large caliber center fire gun..Just my opinion !! Cheers !!

Stay away from this POS!!!
This Allen Company folding deluxe gun rest is lack of quality control. The middle part where Front rest and rear mate has 2 nuts, that also hold the elevation control arms together. My last Rest has 2 misaligned nuts so the control arms could not be tightened to the body, hence the rest could NOT level correctly. I might have a lemon in the crop but bad impression is bad impression. I would stay away from this rest. The Allen company also make Winchester Gun rest and Vice. So you watch out as well.
I know it has a good price tag, but as they say "Buy cheap, buy twice", you might get lucky to find a decent one. I wasn't.

Pros: Lightweight, fully adjustable. The main frame is made from .035 square tubing with .085 plates on the sides that are used as the pivot as well as joining the two frame sections.
Cons: Bag rest is cheesy and the rear rest is a welded rabbit-ear that will offer limited functionality.
I bought this expecting to make some changes. It is about the lightest frame that can be assembled with this amount of adjustability, which is exactly what I wanted. A few tweaks around the edges will save me the trouble of building this myself. If you don't think it looks perfect as pictured and don't want to tweak it look elsewhere.
P.S. Mine did not come with the rear rest adjustment knobs and it was grey not black as pictured.

Tin garbage. Don't waste your money like I did
It's not what is pictured. No vise thumb knobs as pictured to hold stock firmly. Tin garbage. Don't waste your money like I did. Thoroughly disappointed. Too much of a PITA to bother to return it. I can fabricate one 10 times better and will.
DON'T BUY !!!

Bought new at Wally-World. Much cheaper than on here. $30 and some change. Easy assembly and does what its intended to do. Once assembled, this baby will have you dialing in that expensive piece of glass you got sitting on top of that man stopper ya got in no time... now time to kill some zombies!!

Had the same rest years ago and it was grey as pictured and wore it out. Bought a new one at wally world for $30 and it's black. Much thinner metal than my old grey one but works excellent for my pellet rifles and crossbow.

The picture is different than what I got
The one I recieved was light gray, had a different stock rest and I don't see how it could have folded, back it went. I bought a Caldwell lead sled solo which I love.

Save your money.
Very flimsy construction, poor quality.
