It's good for what it is, while it lasts...
In 2014 we had to replace our whole deck. The old one was small and in really bad shape. We designed the new one to last... and to make it really attractive and safe, we installed solar lights on each step, on the landing and around the railing. This particular model went on the railing. They were purchased in September 2014 and installed in December that year.
The best rechargeable AA batteries (like would be used in this) only have about 1000 charge cycles before they give out. And that's Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH)... Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cad) are the worst! If you get Ni-Cad batteries in a product, do yourself a favor and replace them right up front.
Anyway, it's mid-2017 and these lights are starting to fail. No problem, change out the battery, right? Wrong. While the battery compartment has a little rubber seal in the door to keep moisture and humidity out, the rest of the light isn't as fortunate... and guess what? The manufacturer used ferrous hardware for the switch inside! That's a $20 word for "magnetic", which means "prone to oxidation", which means "RUST". So I replaced the battery with a brand new one, fully charged up - but the damage was done. That switch was not going to work again. Everything else inside looks okay, except for the switch. Photo attached.
In summary, these are great looking lights and they will work great... until they don't anymore.

Good Lights for Deck
I bought these to put around the railing of my Deck. I have about 8 Installed and they light up the entire 22x10 ft deck. It's more of a soft light, but good enough to see in the dark and move your way around. Mostly bought it for the decoration, and landscape lighting. It does a awesome job, had them installed for about 3 months and still working great, rain, wind, doesn't matter they just keep on ticking. They have replaceable Rechargeable AA batteries, so if they start to die out, you can just replace them. The ones that came with it look like they are some no name brand, so I'm thinking if you replace them with a name brand they might work even longer into the night. Right now I've noticed them working up until 3am in the morning, not sure if they last the entire night, During the summer months I would assume they could. In the winter I doubt they will last past 1 or 2am in the morning due to the daylight, but if they are in direct view of the sun you might be in luck.
Would recommend to anyone.

Poor product that doesn't turn on. Extremely flawed with potentially inadequate solar panel and faulty sensor switches.
I purchased two of this item as it is the only solar light available with a decent lumen value. Using two batteries instead of one also hinted that this unit has substantial light output. True, the light is plenty bright and a nice white (not blue or yellow), and shines in a fairly large, distinctive spot. The unit is a little larger than expected, but it doesn't feel too flimsy. There are two problems that keep this light from being great:
1. The light sensor doesn't consistently work. More times than not, the lights do not turn on. If I give them a good tap, they turn on. This happens on both lights, so, either they can't deal with being outdoors or the switches are just a poor quality.
2. These take a lot of sunlight to charge. I live in northern Minnesota where the winter doesn't have much in the way of direct sunlight. Many times these light don't work for long, if at all, because of this. The solar panel seems like a nice, large size- angled well to hopefully keep snow from collecting on it, but neither light seems to charge fully except on the brightest days.
UPDATE 01/28/16: These lights barely ever turn on. The light sensors in them are terrible and won't turn on the light without banging on the unit. Both of the lights I purchased have the same exact problem. Don't buy this light- it's a total waste of money.

Won't Last the Night - Short Runtime
These lights give off a great amount of light to illuminate a fence, making a nice triangle of light that reaches the ground below. Very easy to install. Just 2 screws. Trace it onto paper with a pencil to create a template, and it is even easier.
Sadly, 1 of 4 turns off within 2 hours. The remaining 3 turn off over somewhere between 3 & 4 hours. The one that last the shortest amount of time actually gets the most direct sun....6+ hours of direct and 4 hours of indirect. I tried new batteries, but that didn't make a difference.
This is disappointing because the cheap color-changing yard ornaments that are in the same garden and get even less sunlight are just as bright before sunrise as they were when they went on the night before.

Makes a surprising amount of light
Quite impressed with the illumination these provide.
I have a few of them mounted on the side of my house, facing south/SE.
They work well and light the walkway.
However, the original batteries supplied were of low quality & capacity, even after a full day of sun they had a tough time to supply enough power for a night.
After I replaced the batteries with somewhat higher capacity Ni-MH batteries, they now last all night long, and even if the following day is cloudy, they will power the lamps for a second night.

Love it -- just the right brightness
bought this as an accent light on a brick house... And to cast just a tiny sliver of light on my ADT alarm sign through the night.
Comes with decent batteries, but based on other reviews I immediately replaced them with Enelopes that I plan to manually recharge once a year.
Careful putting them together: holding the top triggers the light, and it's bright enough to hurt your eye.
I've got two, 100w motion sensor lights that stay off unless triggered. These ones supplement: small and dim enough to just barely light up about a 5ft circle. They are impervious to power outages. They signal from 200 yards away that there's life in the house, even when I'm away. I can't have bright lights on all night because I'm near a creak and it causes swarms of bugs. I've placed these lights towards the corners in the back, so I don't care if they attract bugs.
They would be easy for a vandal to steal, since I live in a ranch and I've got to place them low enough below the eaves to receive direct sunlight. My plan: only put two up. They are not so expensive that I'm going to lose any sleep worrying about their potential theft.
These are available from Home Depot online: similar price, good reviews.
Overall, this exceeded my expectations for function and quality.

You Are Going to Love These !
I bought 6 of these for use during the summer of 2014.... they perform flawlessly and are weather proof.. what is nice about these is they are removable. They are held in place by two screws which you mount on the deck railing but leave the head slightly exposed, slide these down on the screw heads and that's it. In the fall when I take them down for the winter I just push up the unit and it comes off and the screws stay in place to pop them back on again in the spring. Some people have mentioned they last a couple of years and quit. What quits is the Ni-Cad batteries which wouldn't take a charge any longer. This is normal... these batteries have a life, they can only be re-charged so many times and that's it. Just go out and buy two AA Nicads, take the old ones out, put the new ones in and enjoy the light for another couple of years. By the way... these come on at sunset and stay on till I go to bed around 1 AM.. how long they stay on after that.... who knows... I like these so much I just bought 8 more so I can line them up for the entire length of my deck railing ... I put them about 6 feet apart.. Try them, you'll like them.

Even for the value pricing a product should work as described, shouldn't it?
The lights look great and the light they give is perfect for our needs. However, these lights are faulty. We mounted two on our picket fencing entry, one is above our address light - as other reviewers have mentioned, the battery housing evidently doesn't hold the batteries tightly enough - sometimes they light, sometimes not. Sometimes a "knock" will get it going, sometimes not. Sometimes it's one of the two lights we got, sometimes the other. No clue as to why. Can't return them now, it's been too long unfortunately. We'll try taping the batteries in tighter, or adding a piece of foam. Sheesh!

More than 5 years later...
Update Dec 2015
Well, they sure last. All units still work. I never changed the battery. They still charge and turn on at night although only for a few hours.
I uploaded a picture of one of them. As can be seen in the picture, water got inside the cover. But somehow it does not affect the light.
There are better brighter solar light at a similar price point so this may not be the best option.
But I sure can't argue about its longevity.
I purchased one in January 2013 and another five around May 2013. I installed them by the deck and around the driveway, on whichever sides that get some sun. It is now February 2014 and I am pleased to report that all of the units still work. I haven't even had to change the rechargeable battery.
At first I was skeptical, since it is made of plastic and I am not sure it is really weather-proof. Apparently it is.
Easy to install (two screws and you are done).
Seems to last (at least the six that I purchased.)
Not very bright (two LEDs powered by one AA battery. What do you expect?)
Does not last all night
On some of the units (not all) I see condensation and accumulation of moisture at the bottom of the plastic cover. But it does not seem to affect it.
Overall, For the price that I paid, it was a good purchase.

Great product, but I had to edit my review.
These lights are exactly what I was looking for!! Only thing that could make them better, is if the mounting points were closer together to make them directly mountable to a wood fence post. I had to cut some brackets for them to mount as shown in the picture.
Edit: ordered 2 more from the same place as the first two, and the color of the light output on the new ones is a cool white.
