Hard to mount a bipod with
It mounts to my rifle fine, but I've found it very hard to actually mount my bipods to the adapter. This is because the stud recesses back into the adapter, which makes it tricky to get the pegs from the bipod to catch. If the stud was fixed in place, or at least didn't move up and down so freely, I would like this adapter a lot more.

At under $5, it is what it is.
As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for". With that in mind, at $5 this adapter does an adequate job for what I use it for ( temp use when I'm bench shooting an Ar-15, otherwise I keep a VFG on the rail 90% of the time ) If your intend to permanently mount a bipod, I would most definitely spend the extra money and get a quality picitinny mount. As noted in other reviews, this is a Chinese knock-off and is not to be confused with a true, much higher quality, Harris Engineering adapter.
It works, no real issue mounting a Harris Bipod to the adapter or mounting the adapter to a rail. A cheap allen wrench is included with the adapter, no other instructions are included. interesting enough, the adapter is supposed to be guaranteed to fit, although no contact information was included in the plain, padded envelope that held the adapter.
Fit and finish is on par with an average high school machine shop project, tooling marks are visiible through the black painted surface. Material appears to be carbon steel. Not a true Mil-Spec 1913 Picitinny cut on the mounting rail, the smaller section just clamps on somewhat akwardly on the handrail, but has remained tight for an average shooting session of 200 rds of 5.6 x 45 ammo when the allen head screw is firmly snugged down.
I can recommend this product if you're an air softer or looking for a limited, light duty bipod adapter.

Please, do your self a favor and ignore the negative reviews bc this adaptor is just a hunk of metal. It does exactly what its supposed to do. As a couple people have said, connect it to the bipod first and then the rifle. I was sceptical after reading the negative reviews but trust me when i say it works perfectly.

Easy to install
Easy to install. Cheap. It works. What else can I say? Good to have one of these instead of getting a special bipod that's designed specifically to fit on rails. Get this nice little adaptor and use a bipod you already have. If not ohuhu makes a good harris knock off for 15 bucks. Nice set up for not much money!

Good but not great.
Fairly stable and way more stable than the QD versions with the short locking rail. This one still allows the gun to rock side to side due to the interfacing surface angles being rounded and short. Still, much better lockup than the QD version I tried.

Take two seconds to see the trick
Well, at first I thought i wasted $5 but after taking it off the rail to attach the Harris Bipod, it all made sense. Don't attempt to attach when already on the rail...attach prior and everything is super easy. Worth the $5...wishing i didn't already order the $22 Magpul version.

Lesser of two wins
My bad experience with the Rota-Pod adapter, nearly stopped me from using a bipod, but this little gem changed my mind. It doesn't have the (nice) traverse capability the Rota-Pod had, but is thinner, slipped right onto the picatinny rail, installed easily, and through over 100 rounds from my Core 15 AR-15 M4 Carbine, never showed any looseness. It does allow the weapon to tilt to the side slightly, which helps with loading/removing the magazine (Magpul 30-rd), and allowing the range officer to safety inspect at "cease fire". It is tight enough the tilt doesn't seem to have any effect on aim or movement when firing. The bipod was solid, and I found no movement in this adapter. The hex wrench was just barely too long to store in the Magpul stock compartment, but I don't expect to use it on any regular basis, and the knob is hand-tightenable to make the wrench unnecessary. For the far lower price, this one worked when the Rota-Pod wouldn't fit the picatinny rail (Rota-Pod is not width adjustable like this one is). So I can recommend it if traverse isn't critical, and I was easily able to traverse despite the bipod legs anyway.

Solid but minor 'fitting' required with the Harris S-BRM
It is a solid piece of Aluminum. It feels good and mounts solidly to the picitinny rail. I purchased this to attach a Harris S-BRM to my Sig 716. Unfortunately the S-BRM Harris bipod wouldn't fit. As it was my first S-BRM I tried some of my other Harris bipods and they all fit perfectly. I broke out a file, and after a few minutes there was enough clearance for the bipod to fit. So far, 180 rounds in, the adapter has worked flawlessly.

Simple to Install/All Steel
It does what I expected so I have no complaints. I used a hint that I read in another review and it worked great - attach the adapter to the bipod, then attach that assembly to the Picatinny rail. I have been to the range 3 times since I attached the bipod to my AK firing 100+ rounds each time. Everything has remained in place despite the recoil. I made this purchase based on the recommendation of someone who has much experience with firearms accessories and am not disappointed. It fits as advertised and is all steel.

This is NOT a Harris Made in America product. ...
This is NOT a Harris Made in America product. On the back of the package it is clearly stamped Made in China. It is not machined well and the fit is just ok. I threw this away and bought a MIM (Harris) adapter and the difference is night and day. DO NOT buy this. Buy the MIM Harris adapter for $25 more. Well worth it.
