A Real Disappointment
I recently purchased the Peel & Press Sticker by Number Butterfly and Dinosaur kits for my children. I was very disappointed in the quality of these products in particular in the quality of the butterfly kit. We encountered the following issues:
1. The stickers were very difficult to remove from the plastic backing. A number of the stickers separated into two pieces (the glittery under part and plastic top part) making them unusable.
2. The stickers were extremely sharp on the sides. Because they were also difficult to remove from the backing, my daughter cut herself underneath her fingernail when trying to remove a sticker.
3. The border squares on the frame were misprinted so that the stickers did not fit into the squares. An older individual might not have trouble with this, but my daughter is 6 1/2 and did not understand what to do since the squares were too small and/or too large for the stickers. In addition, the misprinted lines look bad on the final product.
4. My son's dinosaur kit was missing stickers from the plastic that had fallen off in the box and that we could not find.
I purchased both of these items from amazon.com where they have glowing reviews. Unfortunately, were were tremendously disappointed with the products we received.

Very Pretty, Needs More Patience than Creativity
While this project does not stimulate creativity since the child must follow the directions exactly, it is a pleasant way to spend time, particularly when one must be quiet-on airplane, waiting in doctor's office, etc. Essentially it is an updated version of Paint By Numbers. Instead of painting you put beautiful sparkly stickers in the correct numbered spaces. Surely familiarity with numbers, plus eye-hand coordination and fine motor coordination are strengthened. The finished produce is very beautiful
The only negative we found was that some of the stickers separated from their sticky backing and had to be glued to the butterfly. I dont know if it is a flaw in all kits or if the one we orders was old and sitting around too long. While the glue worked well, the disappointment as frustrating at first.
This project is for children 7+ years old.

A real hit with my 6 year old grand daughter!
Did not know if this would be too complex for my 6 year old grand daughter. But she had done one of these before in a different pattern. She sits for long periods of time to work on this and loves it! She can do it independently and it makes a very nice finished product. Recommend for the right child.

Great craft project
I bought this for my 5 year old niece for Christmas. She loves doing these types of crafts. This one is easy enough that she can do it by herself (with supervision), but not so easy that she finishes right away, It's a great project for a rainy afternoon.

My daughter enjoyed doing this and it turned out very pretty.

We have enjoyed all of the Melissa & Doug peel & press sticker by number products, including the stained glass windows. However, the Butterfly one was very difficult for children because of the size of the pieces.
The worse problem, though, was that a row of the # 16 and #17 half stickers was defective. This resulted in pieces that were too small to cover the empty spaces. After all the hard work, the picture could not be completed.

An hour of fun
My five year old enjoyed this craft activity -- it took about an hour or so to finish. It also is a nice item to display once it is completed. My only complaint is that extra stickers should be included (in the event some are lost or don't stick particularly well).

Fun project for 7-year old
My 7-year old daughter loves these mosaics. They keep her busy for a long time and are easy to pick up and put down when the mood strikes. I like that the finished product isn't yet another piece of "artwork" put on display out of obligation - it actually looks decent (for something a second grader made). She has done the dinosaur, fish, and butterfly and wishes there were more.

Great project for Mommy/Daughter time!
My daughter just turned 5, and whereas this might be a little overwhelming for her to do alone, it was a great project for us to do together - and we got great bonding time out of it as a bonus! It's laid out in a very easy to follow format, and she instantly felt like she was creating a beautiful piece of art. If she happened to push a sticker on crooked, they were able to be repositioned without losing all their stickiness. Over all, very happy with this, and will probably purchase another one in the future.

WONDERFUL and BEAUTIFUL!
I was a little skeptical about the rave reviews for this little item - how could something so simple be so great? Well, it is! I bought this for my 6 year old neice for Christmas, and after all the crazy dust had settled from opening a plethora of presents, THIS is the present she "played with" the most. She LOVED it. And her mom, my aunt, loved it as well, and spent just as much time working on it as she did. I will DEFINITELY be buying her another one for her birthday coming up.
