Fluffy, beautiful stretches of color
Lion Brand is my favorite 'go-to,' cheap (but pretty and functional) yarn. I bought 4 skeins of this yarn in Glacier Bay to make the Entrelac Scarf pattern on their website. It turned out beautifully. After blocking, the yarn became very soft. The long strands of color work perfectly for entrelac. Knit on size 9 needles, the scarf is also airy, fluffy, and almost plush. I wear it constantly, and it has easily become my new favorite scarf.
There is one drawback: this yarn sticks to itself like a magnet. Within the first few rows of knitting, I screwed up and had to rip back. I ripped no differently than I do with any other yarn, but this yarn stuck to itself and resulted in a huge knotty, tangled mess that I had to throw away. Thankfully, I had not gotten too far into the project at that point. Afterwards, whenever I had to rip back, I did so somewhat gingerly, tugging more gently and slowly. Problem solved, and I encountered no more tangles.
I uploaded two pics of the scarf in the shared images above, so you can see how the yarn works up if you've never used it before. Try it; you'll love it! :)

Lion "Amazing" Yarn is Truly Amazing!
I love this yarn and have made many beautiful scarves from it. They couldn't have chosen a better name for it as it truly is amazing in the way that it changes colors. They have put together beautiful colors; colors that I wouldn't have known would go together. To my surprise they not only go well together, they look exquisite together! I have been knitting for many, many years and I can honestly say this is the most fun, exciting yarn that I've ever worked with. I don't know how they've done it, but every skein- even within the same color grouping, is slightly different. You never know exactly what to expect- When you buy the yarn, all that you can see are the colors visible from the outside of the skein. so you have no idea what's on the inside until you actually get there. It makes it difficult to ever put the knitting down even for a break because I always want to see what's coming next. It really defies description. You actually have to see and experience it for yourself. Besides being fun to work with it's both warm and lightweight as well as soft and machine washable. My only criticism is that besides its changing colors, a strand of yarn can go from slightly thick to thin- and back again. I have had skeins where the strand has gotten way too thin- like a light string. When that happens I've had to cut that section out and re-join the yarn a bit further up where it's thicker. Fortunately that's happened to me with only about 1/4 of the skeins that I've used. I wouldn't recommend this yarn for a real beginner as it's not easy to rip out being that it has long fibers that get intertwined with each other, but for anyone who loves to knit and wants a really exciting experience- as well as the joy of working with these beautiful rich color combinations, in my opinion, this is the yarn to choose. It truly is a unique and wonderful experience each and every time I knit with it!

Beautiful & Perfect
I bought this yarn to make a blanket and I could not have been more pleased. The colors are amazing and the quality is great (even though is half synthetic). I crocheted a 4'x4' blanket using 15 balls of yarn. The yarn is also made in Italy, not China, so it smelled like it's supposed to (wool) and not like nasty chemicals. I was able to achieve the affect of stripes without changing yarns, pretty cool! I can't wait to try other colors/combinations on my next project.

Disappointed with quality and length
This yarn seemed pretty good when I received it but I was disappointed once started working with it. It is poorly loomed Yarn and I had to reball it before knitting. I couldn't complete even one adult hat. I loved colour online so didn't check yarn length which is not mentioned in description. Actual colours of the 'Glaciar Bay' yarn are pretty dull and muddy so my hat doesn't look pretty as expected. Yarn is not clean and has lot of tiny threads popping out and overall looks messy. may be I am not aware of this yarn type. It's very difficult too rework. Need to order one more skein to compete my work.

Lion Brand always makes great yarn. This yarn is beautiful and soft. I love it. I used it to make a little dice bag.

I bought two skeins of the Arcadia and I'm fairly pleased. It is a mix of brown, burgundy, teal, purple, green and pumpkin. All colors which I wear. The only downside to it is that each skein varies quite a bit which is why it got four stars instead of five. The first half of the second skein had a very long stretch of brown as you can see in the photo I'm attaching. There is a thick band of brown. I think there may have been about 20 yarsw of brown before it finally changed color again. However, I still like this yarn a lot and will be ordering the other colors. The first skein had a lot more of the brighter colors such as pumpkin and cranberry as the second skein was mostly brown as mentioned above. Because of it, I will be redoing the cowl I made so it looks a little more blended in. I am including a photo so you can see the color. In the photo, the first skein is the bottom half as the second skein is the upper half. Very beautiful colors and I'm very happy.
Next time I order I work with this, I will be making the chunky cowl (wear you work with a double strand using two skeins at a time). I think that would be very beautiful and there is a video on youtube illustrating this.

regatta color too unpredictable and variable, and not as masculine-friendly as I expected.
I loved how this color looked online, but I ended up not liking how variable and unpredictable the color was. I bought this yarn to make beverage coozies for my dad (he won't drink anything without a coozie). He sails, and I thought these colors (regatta) were like a sunset on the water. The first coozie I made was mainly a primary red and blue (not pictured). The next one was all pastel lavender and chartreuse -- it didn't go with the first one at all and was a lot more feminine that I expected from the yarn. The red didn't come back at all in that skein of yarn, and I was crocheting yellow-green for way longer than I wanted to be. Farther down in my second skein is some pink -- so this is definitely not as masculine-friendly as I expected.

and the lovely gray/bue color I'd chosen on the computer looks more like dirty hair
Awful. The yarn feel scratchy and weirdly sticky, and the lovely gray/bue color I'd chosen on the computer looks more like dirty hair. I tried four different patterns, hoping to use the three balls I'd ordered on the strength of the good reviews, but I just couldn't make it work. I'd recommend actually touching the yarn in a store before ordering.

Colour variance high
This yarn is quite pretty but it`s a little scratchy. My biggest complaint is that I ordered 2 balls and assumed they sent me the same lot. I really didn't check tho, so that may be the reason that each ball is quite different in the colour pattern produced. I knitted an infinity scarf: The first ball was mostly purple with a couple of inches of pink and green interspersed. The second ball was mostly pink and lime green with a bit of purple here and there. The scarf looked like it was knitted with completely different colours.

Do Not Order This Yarn
I ordered 10 of the olive medley. It had such pretty, vibrant colors in the picture, large sections of light brown, fading into olive green.
It was nothing like the picture. Ugly, puke green, fading into ugly, puke brown, back to the ugly green again. I am beyond upset, I am distraught. I am making an order for a customer, and now, not only am I making it for free, but I have to spend my own money, taking a loss rather than a profit, because this yarn just won't do. I will have to order fresh yarn, and tell the customer she will have to wait up to another month. I plan on sending back what I haven't opened yet.
