Very Easy Setup!
This thing is easy to set up! Read the instructions! Don't listen to complaining reviews, obviously these people can't wipe their ass without assistance. I put this canopy up in 10min in 20 knot winds! It stayed up and blocked the blowing sand. Awesome product. This is my little piece of heaven right here.

All You Can Rationally Expect
Fabric is light, not easy to rip though. The pole frames are just as sturdy as I expected them to be. No they're not carbon fiber, yes they're just hard plastic, but so what. It's more than strong enough to hold up the fabric canopy and flexible enough to sway with the wind. For all the reviews that claim that it fles away in the wind... well of course it'll fly away in the wind!! It's a huge ultra light weight umbrella! It's your responsibility to (1) stake it into the sand, (2) fill the sand pouches, AND (3) use the guy lines and secure them in with sand augers (does not come with tent); don't forget to allow the lines to have some slack, if they're too taught they'll pull out the augers. If you think any beach tent will stay down in windy conditions alone, then you're fooling yourself. And if you're asking why the augers aren't included the obvious answer is that it'll make it too expensive to make it appealing to the average consumer. Take my advise, buy some augers so that you can tie down the tent.

Watch the video. Still need a review? Seriously?? Fine...
Did you watch the video?
... and you still need to read these reviews to make your decision?
Well, if you insist.
I'm not a fan of scrubbing out grass stains from clothes but I do love being outdoors. I sometimes get sunburns, and those are never fun, either. I love feeling the breeze blowing around me, but don't like getting caught in the rain. NYC summers can get pretty brutal - not just for humans, but for our puppies, too.
This canopy tent is the solution to all of that.
Not only is the set-up and take-down RIDICULOUSLY easy (so much so that everyone around us seems to be baffled every time we open or close this thing), but it's just so perfect to create just the right balance between being outdoors but not completely exposed to the elements. The little mesh part under the covered side is also a very convenient and nice touch, so that it doesn't topple when a strong gust of wind hits you, but also to let the breeze through from all sides.
***PRO TIP: I like to bring my extra thick yoga mat (http://amzn.to/1CFSUHj) with me and put it inside the canopy tent just for some cushion. The floor of this canopy tent is extremely thin, so if you're going to be on a surface with rocks and/or pebbles, give it a try, too!

on 2017-07-06 Layman's thoughts after first-time use.
There are so many things great about this product that I wanted to give it 5 stars, but there were a few things that I wanted to point out.
For starters, we only go to the beach about once a year. This was our first year to use the tent and we were VERY GLAD that we did! We are not campers or overly "outdoorsy" people. This was from a very greenhorn perspective.
APOLOGIES FOR THE PICTURE ORIENTATIONS.
1. POCKETS--Oh man! There were secret pockets everywhere and BOY did they come in handy! They held tons of little thing securely and out of the way in very inconspicuous spots. There are even pockets in the ceiling!
2. QUICK SETUP--This was definitely a pro as the setup was very quick and very easy. The only part that took any time at all was anchoring it down and making sure the "floor" was as taught as possible. Really the initial set up was spectacularly simple.
3. STRONG/DURABLE--It was a bit of a windy day and the tent took a bit of a beating, but still held strong. The stakes were another story, however.
4. PLENTY OF WIDTH AND HEADROOM--I'm 6'6" tall so I didn't expect to be able to stand up in it (and I couldn't), but I had plenty of room to sit down and maneuver around--LOTS of room! For a guy who's used to bumping my head on everything everywhere I go, this was GREAT! Our family of 4 had plenty of room to keep our stuff and put on sunscreen. We even had a beach chair set up in there with the rest of our stuff!
1. STAKES--While the stakes held, I would say just barely. Several of them were starting to come out even though we pushed them ALL in as far as we could without breaking them. Based only on what I have read from others, I would recommend throwing away the stakes and buying these instead:Orange Screw: The Ultimate Ground Anchor, SMALL - 4 Pack
You will need at least 8 (though there is a 9th spot in the back that you can anchor as well--I would recommend this). This was probably the biggest con.
2. SOMETIMES THE POLES BEND THE WRONG WAY--This is really an easy fix, but occasionally when you start to "pop" it up to set it up or "release" it to put it away, the corner poles will bend the wrong way. It's really an easy fix (just start the process over--whether you are opening it or closing it back down and correct whichever pole bent incorrectly). The poles won't actually "bend" so much as the hinges will sometimes bend in the wrong direction. We learned this by practicing with it before we took it to the beach which we would also recommend.
3. THE ANCHOR CORDS-- This isn't a huge thing, but if tying knots isn't your forte, just buy some cable clamps or something to hold them in place when not in use. There isn't a way that we knew of to make these stay in place very well when putting it away.
So, those are our observations. In conclusion, we REALLY LIKE it but we will be purchasing those twist anchors in the future.

Great for the beach!
I purchased this tent for our beach trip. There was only 1 day of our trip we didn't use it due to excessive wind.
It provided great shade and was big enough for my family of 4. I rate it 4-stars only because the bottom tends to get slightly warm from the sun so we made sure not to sit out baby in the areas that had been in the sun. I am 5'7" and cannot stand up under the tent.

Fantastic beach pop-up!!! Not even 3 minutes!!
I love this lightweight tent shelter. It opens and closes a lot like an umbrella- SO SIMPLE!!!!! It takes 2 minutes at best. Bring a mallet for the hard plastic stakes and wellah!! I spent the day with thus on a really windy beach and it worked like a champ!! Be sure that the umbrelka type spines do not get twisted around (each one should form an arch shape around the tent) and you are solid all day!! Used all eight stakes and noticed we got an extra stake - thought that was great!! Also the tent weighs less than my heavy canvass folding chair so that makes me love it even more. BTW - not sure about the photo showing a bubch of people under thus thing - it comfortably shades two adults in chairs MAX.

Easy to set up and keep you out of the sun!
This shelter far exceeded my expectations, which were high after reading such great reviews on other sites. The design of it is incredible - sort of like an upside-down umbrella and it's impressively easy for one person to set it up. In fact, having two people to open it is a bit awkward because there's nothing for the second person to do! The carrying case it comes with is just like one you might have on a folding canvas chair and it makes it super easy to carry around (the whole thing is very light).
Make sure to properly stake it out in high winds and it'll take gusts like a champ. I had it in a hot field for days and the temperature underneath was at least 20 degrees cooler. I love the included pockets to hide away little items and the sandpockets are a great feature for use at the beach. The only tip I have in using it is to be careful that the fabric doesn't get caught anywhere in opening it, or you could likely tear it.
Now, this isn't a shelter that you're going to be setting up chairs and a table and a lot of stuff under. In that case, I recommend Wendel's. However, this is great for sitting, laying down, stashing things under when you're at the beach or having a picnic. You do need to duck to get into it but it feels roomy if you're sitting down on the tarped floor. A great product!

Truly easy/fast open and close - well made
I can't tell you how much we love this tent. With 2 kids in soccer and a 3rd crawling this has protected us from the sun and the rain. I can break it down and set it up in just a few minutes. The other parents around me always remark with how fast it folds up and sets up too. We've used it at the beach as well and it was ok with the wind, but we needed to use the stakes to keep it from launching. We've taken it on one beach trip and this is the second season of soccer we're using it for. It's well made and hasn't ripped after at least 20 uses. It's light weight and easy to haul along with you, I'd say it weighs about the same as one of those chairs in a bag and is just a little longer. We feel it has been well worth the price. I bought some large towel clips and use a sheet to help create more shade if the sun is hitting two sides. You can sit in a chair in a bag inside of it but it cuts off a lot of the view so we have used beach chairs like these to make it more comfortable and have the maximum view. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K6KP42I?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Easiest set up, great shade, open sides are perfect to let air flow through, keeping you cooler
I already owned a lightspeed tent before purchasing this and knew going into it that the easy set up was what I wanted. I have a toddler who is hard to keep still/keep an eye on, so fast an easy set up is a must. While the other tent/canopy I have is great, it has walls on three sides, not allowing for a lot of air circulating and can get quite hot in in the Florida summers. This tent, with its open sides was perfect for that. Additionally, the dark blue color keeps the tent significantly cooler than the gray one I was using previously.
The canopy sets up within seconds, the most time consuming part is hammering in the stakes which is pretty quick as well. They are fairly hard to get into the ground if you aren't on sand or softer dirt. We primarily use this to stay in the shade while watching my husband play softball on the weekends so we are usually setting up in the grass. Most of the time we need to use his bat to get the stakes all the way into the ground.
This canopy is actually a little lighter than my folding camping chairs, which is awesome since we are already hauling so much stuff.
Everywhere we go, we get comments on "what a great idea" it is, and its a great alternative to the "E-Z Up" shades that a lot of families bring out to the softball fields because those take much longer to set up, and you usually need two people to walk the legs apart. This is definitely a one person set up, albeit you cannot stand underneath it, which we don't anyhow, unless your are a kid or under 5'3 probably.
On the inside of the canopy there are a few mesh pockets to store things like the bag that holds the stakes, the extra stakes if you don't use all of them which we typically don't and we usually end up putting fruit snack wrappers and stuff like that in them. All in all, great purchase, durable brand, easiest set up imaginable and very functional. Because the set up is so easy, its not a pain to bring it out for just an hour, where i would feel silly doing that with something that takes 10 mins to set up and another 10 to take down.

Warm sandy beaches, nice shady spot.
This tent is amazing! Provides tons of shade, has a floor so you aren't burning your feet while you wait for the shade to cool the sand down. This tent is extremely easy to set up and take back down needing only one person to work on it. It sets up like an umbrella so no need to be dealing with poles and separate pieces. The wind will not take your tent away, between it's open sides and attached sand bags it is very stable, it also includes stakes and ropes but I did not need these on my windy day at the beach. You can also hang a towel from any of the open sides to have more shade when the sun begins to move. It is also very light for carrying across the sand to your destination.I am so happy with this purchase!
