THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR PERSONS THAT HAVE A HARD TIME DIALING A REGULAR PHONE.
Works GREAT for a person affected with poor eyesight, diminished memory or just people with "FAT FINGER" syndrome. Very easy to program and the programming buttons are covered with a slide door on the underside that can be temporarily locked with tape to keep unauthorized fingers from messing up the stored phone numbers. There are 12 memory buttons that can have a picture, hand written words, typed words or any other communication method to show who will be called at the touch of that button. Each button also comes with extra plastic covers that protect the communication method you elect to use to keep the picture or paper from getting damaged or stained. The picture shows three buttons for POLICE, FIRE or AMBULANCE but if you just want to program one button for "911" or a regular phone number such as some small towns still have for ALL emergency departments and have 11 other buttons for other things that also works great. My mother-in-law was constantly losing phone numbers or miss dialing the ones she could find but now calling the grand children and friends just got so much easier.

She was so happy about it
Ingenious! Got it for my grandmother who can never remember to dial 1 before long distance numbers. She was so happy about it. My suggestion, check that all the numbers you plan to program in work before programming. Also, in the instructions, it never discusses the size of the pictures, so measure before wasting resources printing. If you make a mistake you can reprogram a button with the same process as initial programming.

Not great for someone with dementia
This is a great concept, but did not work well at all for my grandpa with dementia. He could not grasp the order of how you have to dial with this thing. You have to pick up the receiver first and then wait for a dial tone and then push the button. It was too much for him. We put it away after only a week of him trying to use it.

Works as expected.
The product works as expected. The buttons are big and it's relatively easy to use. What could make it bettter? Having a printable template that I could download from a website and put into MS Word or something like that. Also, if the device had battery backup that would be pretty nice too.
Overall, I like the size and function.

Cheaply made, does not work properly
At first, I was looking for a large button telephone with an easy-to-use memory for my elderly in-laws to use to call family members. I saw this item and felt it was the perfect solution. When I first opened the package a red flag went up. It was definitely not a good-quality, well-made product. I really wanted it to work for my in-laws so I was hoping for good results, in spite of my first impression.
After several attempts to get the numbers programmed it wouldn't call the person it was supposed to. I felt the directions were very vague when it came to programming one number after another. After many attempts of trying to get it to call one person and getting another it became very embarrassing and frustrating so I gave up and whet back the following day to try again. This time I unplugged it to clear everything (as it said it would) and start over but when I began reprogramming the numbers, it automatically called a number that was supposed to have been cleared.
My mother-in-law said to forget it and return it. I'm hoping for a refund.

It is easy to use
I got this for my Dad in assisted living. It is easy to use, but a pain to program because you essentially need three hands, one for the phone, one to set the number, and one to flip over and press the programmed button (ok a little exaggerated). Since the dial tone at my Dad's facility would conk out fairly quickly this made it difficult. Plus, as noted, it does not remember numbers when unplugged. It works for him though.

The instructions are a bit vague... at first I couldn't get my set numbers to save, but then I realized you have to hear the dialtone before you set the number. The instructions say "remove the receiver", but I was using a cordless phone, so it wasn't giving me a dialtone. Also, you have to remove the plastic pieces and "blank faces" that are already on the dialer before you put your own in the slot. Other than that, it functions perfectly.

Great concept; less than great execution.
I ordered this for my 98-year old aunt, who up until recently has been able to call family by dialing a big button phone. Now her motor skills have worsened and she cannot reliably dial the 10 or 11 digits to call us. I have been testing the unit for about an hour now in my office and may update the review after I install it for her this week and she has a chance to use it.
Conceptually this is a great device. Large buttons you can label that auto-dial pre-programmed numbers. The main shortcomings I have found so far is that the documentation is sparse and obviously translated (I think from Chinese) and, as others have noted, no battery backup to retain the programming long-term if disconnected from the phone line. As to the latter, my testing showed it would retain the programming for at least 10 minutes while unplugged from the phone line. But after one-hour, it lost most of the numbers. This keeps me from programming it at home and taking to her. However, the amount of retention time it has means it is not likely to lose its numbers unless she accidentally unplugs it for some length of time.
My aunt's eyesight is poor, so photo labels will not work for her. I have been typing up button labels with large initials to signify whom she is calling. I had a little trouble figuring out how to insert the labels - no documentation on that - under the plastic tabs, but was glad to see they provide an extra set of plastic tabs to replace any that get broken. I hope a major phone manufacturer will take this auto-dialer concept and make a high quality version with battery backup; I would be willing to pay a lot more for more quality. 5 stars to this one for concept; 3 stars for quality, so I marked it as 4 stars.
By the way - I ordered it Friday night and got it Monday morning with free shipping via Prime - that's great service.

Very easy to use with simple set up
I got this for my 82-year-old father who is legally blind. I set this up in no time. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. I set up a few numbers in no time. I am also very technically challenged.
My Dad learned how to use this very fast. He cannot see well enough to recognize photos, so I put different colors for different people. He has no problems at all with it. He is so happy to have something simple to use! Of course, this makes me very happy and also I feel better that he can easily call me whenever he needs me!

Great for people who can't read or have fat fingers
Bought it for my 85-year-old dad. In case he has a stroke and can't read, at least he'll have faces he may recognize. He really likes it. One bad thing is, if this device is disconnected from the phone for what ever reason, all the numbers are lost and you have to reprogram it.
Buttons are huge, so no miss dialing.
