Glowshift Trans. Temp Gauge ( 94 Chevy C1500 )
I have this installed in a 1994 Chevrolet C1500 with the 4L60E automatic transmission. The temperature sensor is 1/8th NPT thread and the test port was the same thread pattern. Piece of advice, do not crimp the ends of the wires to the sensor before installing it to the test port bc the wires will twist on themselves. I didnt use the orange wire bc hence the name "Glow"shift, so I didnt want to dim them by wiring them to the headlight fuse, I wanted them to "glow" like they were supposed to. Also, I ran the wires that needed to come through the firewall into the cab and before making a permanent install, I checked to see if the gauge worked before final installation which it worked like it was supposed to. I have this gauge as well as a volt gauge and a water temp gauge mounted in swivel gauge pods and they all look and work great. Highly recommend.

Not everything needed in to complete the job.
I like the gauge, it works fine but I wish they would have included the t-fitting and barbs to go with it and a mount. I do not know why they suggest tying it into a test port on the tranny. Everything I read says these ports don't always get fluid, it depends on the gear your in.
I went to 3 different stores to find the rest of the parts needed to install. I split the line just before the radiator and spliced in there. Would have given 5 stars if they would have included the correct pieces to install correctly.

A great looking gauge
This was bought along with oil pressure and oil temp gauges and after 8 months has yet to have any problems. There are other gauges out there that can measure trans temp, but the range the gauge measures (80°F-260°F) along with its 270° sweep made it easier to see how hard the transmission was working. Since it only came with the temperature sender, a custom barbed tee fitting was made to measure the hot side of the trans fluid going into the cooler. The other features such as the color choices and dimming make this gauge a very good gauge for the price.

Eh? I'm still not sure.
Hello! I've had a few glow shift gauges in my truck for about a year now. At first it was exciting. New shiny things, you know how it is. But, recently I have been having issues. Ever since the start the trans temp gauge would take several miles, ten or twelve, of highway driving before it would even register. At that time I had the sending unit installed in the pressure test port on my E4OD. Now the gauge almost never registers temperature. I had moved the sending unit to the bottom of the trans pan about halfway into the fluid. The gauge itself has been great. No issues with anything, still shiny and still working. The colors are vibrant and easy to see. The rainbow function is nifty, but I'll never use it.

This gauge works great and was easy to install
Installed this in my 99 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer after I had the tranny rebuilt. This gauge works great and was easy to install! The sending unit that this came with fit right into my test port on my 4r100 transmission FYI the sending unit it comes with is a 1/8 npu. I did not need an adapter thankfully. This gauge works great and is very cool! Can change colors and automatically switch from color to color. Only thing that I had to get was a bracket to mount it. This didn’t come with one so if you buy this make sure you get a mounting bracket of some kind for it. I think glowshift makes custom ones you can buy on amazon. Overall great and reliable product!

Gauge works and is accurate, not installed in my truck yet but I did a quick counter top test with water from my coffee maker. I don't like the cheap connectors on the temperature probe so I ordered a 2 wire weather proof connection much like one you would find under the hood of a car. I'll solder and heat shrink one end of that to the temperature probe and the other end to the wire that runs into the cab making a much more superior connection than the cheap ones that come on the probe. This is just me being picky but I live in Michigan and the salt will corrode the supplied connectors in no time. I'll update with more pictures when everything is installed.

Worked pretty good. Easier than I expected to install for this shade tree mechanic. Still wasn't able to get the dimming feature to work but it was likely my wiring, not the gauge.

Do NOT use this on a 4l60e transmission. Installed on my 1995 k1500 and guage would only read 260° checked sensor resistance with it unplugged from the guage as told to do by customer support and it read open. Removed the sensor and the end was broken off. Sensor is too long for the test port and gave no resistance before it broke. I was actually worried I should thread it further to make sure it wouldn't leak. Doing some reading online it appears the extension they sell and told me to buy is too long and interferes with the linkage, so I guess I'm buying a new sensor and hoping I can thread it in less so it won't bottom out and break again.

Good gauge for the price.
inexpensive gauge that works.
I don't care for the darker colors it has for lighting but as a gauge it works ok. Taking the jeep out this weekend and bringing an IR gun to verify the accuracy. If I do not report back otherwise it worked fine.

This is one of three gauges I installed, an oil temperature gauge, an oil pressure gauge, and a transmission temperature gauge. The gauges appear to be accurate and look amazing.
