Too tall for our Pergola no more!!
Too tall for our Pergola no more! When I first put this thing together I didn't realize just how tall it was. Too tall in fact for our large pergola by the lake. It fit underneath but I could have run the risk of a fire if I used it underneath the wooden pergola. So I went ahead and took out the second tube, used brackets to attach the top burner unit to the bottom tube and presto, it is now the perfect size (no more than 6' tall) to use underneath the pergola. It even works better when it is not as tall. Still very tall for any kid to reach and get hurt but lower enough to put out a tremendous amount of heat to all around 9 feet of it. I've posted pics so that if you are having the same problem you can do this as well, it only takes a couple of screws, some nuts and four bolts with washers, a drill and you're on your way. Of course you will need four brackets to make it work. Just look at what I had in my tool box and used as brackets!! This thing is truly awesome and at this height, putting out 46,000 BTUs and at $155.00, you can't beat it! You will pay a lot more or the same for a 10,000 BTU table top one if you want this thing underneath a roof so why bother. Just follow the pictures I attached and enjoy!!

Quality quite good, especially for this price point
Received this today and put it together, and just fired it up. As another reviewer observed, all parts present, unit well packed and undamaged. All the holes lined up well, and the bolts all fit well where they were supposed to.
It is easy to light, and seems to put out a respectable amount of heat. It is tall enough to be safe from hair lighting, yet not so tall that the heat is far from where it is needed. It is quiet, and the entire burner seems to light evenly with a nice blue flame. Most important, it seems safe to me. Reasonable build quality, a couple of safety features common to things propane, etc.
I am taking one star away for poor instructions. The print and pictures are very small and poorly labeled, and aside from using one's logic and experience (which isn't hard for this particular assembly), the instructions on which sized bolts to use where is virtually non-existent.
Still, happy with the purchase so far... It is what we needed at less than I thought I'd have to pay. And 2 day shipping was free with 2DayDeliver Prime.

Terrible Manufacturing , Dead on arrival(twice)
Ordered for a Christmas gift. Was excited to assembly it and enjoy the heat. DEAD ON ARRIVAL, yep that's what they called it. Instructions say call the manufacture first. I did and got a very helpful man, informed me I needed to most likely adjust the gas valve. Again more assembly time. Again it failed and did not work. After calling back they suggested they send a new head unit. When it arrived, it did not match perfect more assembly time to remove things from the old head to make the new head work. Once assembled DEAD ON ARRIVAL. Called manufacture and spoke to Christine Glumm, She explained I got a another bad unit. I ask who's coming to fix this unit this time. She said that's between 2DayDeliver and me that's where I bought the unit. I've been on the phone with 2DayDeliver for 45 minutes. They want me to disassemble and repack. No way. I have 6-10 hours into assembly. Calling my credit card and asking for assistance.

Works great on our deck...after making one modification
We recently turned our plain old (uncovered) back deck into a beautifully covered (partially screened) deck. Since doing this we spend every possible minute in the screened in area...watching TV, reading, napping, etc. Once the weather started turning cooler we researched heaters that would allow us to continue using our deck. That research led us to the Fire Sense Hammer Tone Bronze Commercial Patio Heater!
After reading the reviews, I was worried that this might be too high for our covered deck but since others said it worked fine on theirs, I bought it. It arrived quickly and was packaged well. There were no missing parts and no dents. My husband quickly put it together. Once put together it is at least 7' tall. After firing it up we decided that even though our ceiling is a little over 9' tall this heater was just too tall for us to enjoy it safely. We loved the heater so much that like other reviewers, we decided to make a modification that would allow us to feel safer and enjoy it more.
My husband modified the heater in about an hour. There are two pipes that fit together to connect the bottom where the tank goes and the top where the heat is actually generated. He removed the top pipe and cut off the top threaded end so that it was now only about 4 inches long. This allowed the modified pipe piece to screw into the bottom pipe and still have the existing bolt holes necessary for the very top part (where the heat is actually generated) to slide into and connect to the pipe.
We love the heater! It puts out a lot of heat. We usually sit outside 5 or 6 evenings a week and with our nice Costco shades pulled down, we use the heater about 3 hours each night. Most nights we start out with the heat on high but usually turn it down after the area heats up. With this type of use we have found that a tank of propane lasts a couple of weeks.
We would definitely recommend this heater!

A Decent Product
Love the look and shape of this product
It assembles easily
An average wind will knock this over (it fell over on me 3 times and bent the flimsy aluminium hood)
It sits a bit high to keep you comfortably warm on a cool fall evening if you're sitting.
I've seen people post that they've "altered" the posts holding up the burner, but I would definitely NOT recommend that as it would void the warranty and become potentially dangerous. This is not a commercial grade produce like you may experience at an outdoor venue.

Love this heater. Needed some warmth on the screened in deck area off the 2nd floor MBR. Like another review, I needed to shorten the height by 20" or so to avoid getting too close to the wooden ceiling. So I cut all but 4" off the upper tube leaving the internally threaded end intact, drilled 4 holes properly spaced around the perimeter to match up with the threaded holes. Works perfectly (see pic)!!

Item 01775 Stainless Steel Commercial Patio Heater
This stainless steel model costs more but includes an electronic ignition that requires a AAA battery. Also, unlike the less expensive units with painted bodies, this one has a pre weighted bottom and does not need the addition of sand and windshield washer fluid to weight it down. That greatly simplifies the assembly.
All parts came well packaged. Directions were clear and in clearly written English. Assembly was straightforward. I did have one small annoying problem. One of the six M6 nuts in the package was actually a 1/4 X 20 and would not tighten. A quick trip to the hardware store took care of the problem. Initially, I noticed a slight leaning of the top burner section. I loosened the four bolts, gave the top a slight twist, and then retightened the bolts. That took care of the problem.
On initial startup the directions say to hold the gas control knob in for 2 minutes prior to pushing the igniter button. I only held the button in for a few seconds, and when I pressed the igniter there was a flash and the unit was immediately fully lit. I would not recommend waiting very long before pressing the igniter. There as some slight initial smoking, but it quickly subsided.
Overall, I am very pleased with this heater.
Update 10/11/16: If you purchase a Fire Sense product don't forget to go to the fire sense website and post a review. It will double the length of your warranty. Also, before you throw away the box, look for the serial number and record it for future reference. I called the company to find out how to register my unit and was told as long as I have my receipt it was unnecessary. They answered the phone within a couple rings. Very impressive.

The heat is on.
I purchased the black one. It looks great and works amazingly well. Honestly, for the price (I paid $111), it's far better than I anticipated or expected. It really is commercial grade as described.
Initial setup is possible with one person but probably easier with two. Instructions are easy to follow.
The base holds WAY more sand/water than The laws of physics would seem to allow.
This thing lights first time every time and the heat radiates across my entire patio area.

Would look great if it came with all the pieces
The patio heater looks amazing and was easy to put together. The only and biggest problem is the missing reflector panel. Only 3 of 4 panels came in the box. I attempted to contact the company, leaving more than one message, and after two days they have not replied. I chose not to disassemble and ship it back and instead I purchased a replacement reflector panel. I also purchased a cover for the heater from the company and it was also missing a piece (metal rods). Since both items I purchased from Firesense were missing pieces and the company has not responded to my calls, I can not recommend this product to other people. The only reason it got two stars and not one is because the heater will look really nice when it's ready.

This unit really puts out the heat..... I modified it to fit under my patio... followed what another person did per his reviews making it about 7 ft tall.. Worked perfect.......heats the whole patio area . I have it in the middle of the patio.....with chairs and tables situated around the heater , works great. Caution !, I wasn't thinking, and had it up fairly close to the big kitchen sliding window.... after about an hour, there was a loud pop.. The heat cracked one side of the window........its called thermal stress. Cost me 375 to get the double paned window replaced......MY FAULT. I am happy with this well made, easy to assemble heater......also great price.....
