5 Stars By Patty J. on 2015-03-23 Great product. Great price. I bought three rounds of these for my classroom. They are easy to assemble, move around, adjust in height and look great.
5 Stars By Andrew The Review Prince on 2015-07-17 Great Laptop Table I've had this for over a year. My fiancee and I liked it so much, we bought another one after a year.
TOP: The top has a large surface area that measures 23.5 inches (~59.5 cm) across and 16 inches deep (~41 cm) at the midline, which is the deepest point. The top is made of plywood with a pseudo-wood top. Currently, I have no scratches on either top (we don't necessarily baby these...). The top can come off to be rotated 180 degrees to give the top about a 35 degree tilt. My laptop, with its amazing rubber feet, stays on the tilted surface well, however, other laptops, ipads, a mouse, a book, etc will likely just slide off as there's nothing to stop it. This is sturdy, except at some point the welds (as seen in the video) didn't hold up and it's not quite as sturdy. However, it's still pretty sturdy.
MID SECTION: The top can move from 20 inches tall (~51 cm) to 33 inches tall (~84 cm). If it gets too tall, it can get wobbly. The knob actually holds this well into position.
BASE: The base has 4 wheels on the bottom. 2 of the four have a little tab that allows you to brake the cart to prevent it from moving. The wheels do pretty good on short carpet and hardwood floors. Shaggy carpet could perhaps be a little more of a challenge. The top of the base sits about 3.5 inches tall, allowing the base to slide under many couches. If your couch is like mine, over 2 inches is too high. The wheels do come off, except the bolt is what holds the plastic endcap on the base. You could go to homedepot and get bolts that replace the wheels, or you could instead just use clear tape (what I used).
Overall, this is a great laptop/multipurpose cart. If you are worried about the price, if you keep this for 5 years, then you pay only like 7 dollars on average.
Hopefully this has helped, hit helpful if I've help!
5 Stars By Happy on 2015-05-04 Five Stars Table works great!!! Height is adjustable and perfect for 15 inch laptop. I can even add a small notebook
5 Stars By nashBridges on 2015-04-03 Perfect stand for small spaces! For under 40 bucks you can't do much better than this. After years of using a trash can in the bathroom as a laptop stand, I finally figured I should get something more professional looking that was also easy to push out of the way. This fits the bill perfectly. The height is adjustable, assembly took less than 10 minutes, and it's rock solid. I was worried that the cats might tip it over when they inevitably jumped on it, but it holds firm. It's also perfectly level and functions as a book stand or tablet stand just as well. Since the top drops with the twist of a screw it's easy to push under the counter when not in use.
4 Stars By Not an Expert on 2015-09-01 about 200 hours of use from an easy chair. Here are some plusses Lots of research paid of on this stable, simple, and handsome standard size computer desk, $38. So far, about 200 hours of use from an easy chair. Here are some plusses, minuses, and comments:
Good: Good welding and paint job. Sturdy desktop - post is attached to the middle of the top. Sturdy stand made of appropriate gauge metal. Simple construction: not much to go wrong and easy quick setup (20 minutes) All tools needed are provided (disposable little wrench too) Center of gravity is in the right place. Minimum and maximum height covers any normal height seating. One reviewer states 20.5 - 31 inches. Base including wheels is 3 inches high. Plenty of room for 14" wide laptop and mouse. With effort, can get laptop, mouse, external keyboard, fan, and navigator mouse on table. Tough.
Shortcomings: (not faults) Instructions weak, but adequate if you take time to work it out. Surface area great for computer and mouse, but not much more. Not designed for a bed due to center post, but could work if sitting up.
Can be used without wheels if desired (not sure why you would) Might be a little hard to roll on a thick rug, but that comes with the low clearance of 3 inches. Not hard to lift a little to help move.
5 Stars By Halo on 2013-01-06 Best laptop stand for sitting or at the office! Sturdy center design - no wobbling. Great value and a solid piece for use as a laptop cart. It rolls well, it’s not wobbly, and it has a center post with an angular lean making it perfect for the couch or my chair. Again, for the money, this cannot be beat.
The product is perfect for those sitting at a desk or chair with their laptop. I'm sure it has other uses, but as a laptop stand it was excellent and extremely sturdy. It may or may not serve well for those in bed, but I suspect it would have to be used side saddle for "in-bed" users. I don't allow electronics in my bedroom so I wouldn't use it for that purpose.
Adjusting the height is easy and simple. There are no notched holes for the screw down adjustment knob, but I find it tight enough without notches. After 2 weeks of non-stop use, there has been no slipping.
The top surface is 24 inches wide, wide enough to accommodate my HUGE 17 inch laptop and a large trackball mouse. The top is made of wood and is solid.
The piece assembled quickly. The instructions are very basic but you can figure out most of what’s not written from photos of the final assembled piece.
The base is shallow in height and slid perfectly under my den chair that is pretty low compared to standard furniture.
Assembly notes: 1) Mine came with 4 lock washers that were included as extras and not described in the instructions. It was obvious they were intended for the base as that’s the fulcrum of this stand. I added the washers’ top-side of the base post screw down to lock down the screws from the top- the threaded washers were on the bottom and secure the bottom well.
2) Be sure to pre-fit the top wood part of the unit to the metal piece it screws into to get it correctly situated directionally before tightening it down. It can be kind of a palindrome, but luckily it’s either one way or the other. After you situate it, put it on the unit when fully assembled, then you can screw the top down to the metal bracket provided. You can screw it down to be horizontal as it was built, or you can do it backwards which does put the top at an angle if you prefer that. There is no adjustment for the angle of the top.
I’m giving this 5 stars due to price, quality, and how well it works for its intended purpose. If something happens and it fell apart after a year for whatever reason.... so what – I’ll buy another one at this price point. Probably going to buy a second unit for my office.
5 Stars By Serious Sam on 2013-02-17 Excellent product just what I was looking for The desk cart is very stable and easy to put together. It is easy to adjust and rolls freely. I use it on a laminate floor. The surface size is perfect for my keyboard and mouse which is what I am using it for. I have my PC connected to my T.V. and wanted something to hold my keyboard and mouse. I use my PC to watch Netflix, internet content and to work on. This way I do not have to buy a monitor in addition to a T.V.
4 Stars By Robloo on 2016-01-28 0 Stars - Useless for my needs This review will be a bit confusing so I've broken it into two parts: (1) Review - (2) Comments with Picture
(1) - REVIEW
- WHEELS ON: 0 Stars - Useless for my needs, moved around a lot while using it, very unsteady on my hardwood floors, even with wheels in locked position. - WHEELS OFF: 5 Stars - The best for it's price, maybe even better - the perfect stand.
Even though I'm giving it 0 stars with wheels, removing them completely changed the value of the product, enough to warrant 5 stars for my uses.
I bought this to use both at my desk as a keyboard stand and with my sofa as stand for iPad and laptop. I found when I used the stand on hardwood floors with the wheels on, the stand was unsteady and moved around - I was afraid to put my laptop on it because I might knock it over, even with the wheels in locked position. BUT...when I removed the wheels and added a couple adhesive pads (the type you put under furniture on hardwood floors) my opinion completely changed.
(2) COMMENTS WITH PICTURE
I always return a product if it doesn't live up to its performance claims, but I chose to keep this, which is a first for me. It's a great stand without the wheels. I would recommend this stand to anyone with the caveat being it's not as sturdy with wheels on as it is with wheels off.
Finally, the stand I received looks a lot better than it's picture and has two crossbars holding up the center post and tabletop instead of the one crossbar shown in the picture - the post ends up bolted to both crossbars - that obviously makes the stand itself studier than the model shown in the picture, which must be an older version.
(Attached is a picture showing both the apparently updated version of the stand and how it looks without wheels.)
1 Stars By Pamela Milazzo on 2015-11-01 Beware before you buy! I wouldn't even give it one star! I purchased this desk ( Standard Version ) on November 22, 2013, so I could use it occassionally to work on my laptop- its not even 2 years old. When I first purchased it, I thought ot was pretty great. Easy assembly. When you put the desk together, you slide a square tube "stem" attached to the desk part, into a similar metal piece attached to the bottom piece with wheels and it locks into place. I noted that it was a tight fit, the first time I put it togther, but wa told it was because it was new, etc. I noticed this the 2 or maybe 3 times I decided to change the height......so not many times in that time. Well tonight, I decided to move the desk to another room, so I rolled it out, loosened the screw that adjusts the height ( almost all the way off) and gently "GENTLY!" pulled the desk part up....the desk part moved up, but the metal stem attached to the desk snapped right off! THis "stem" is attached to the desk by a METAL crossbar and screws, and it CAME RIGHT APART! Luckily i was holding the desk part by the sides or I would have cut my hand open on the exposed metal where it broke! I'm reallly disgusted, because lately , everything I purchase from AMAZON, lasts about a year and dies! I expect that a desk like this, which everyone seems to love based on the reviews AMAZON shows us, is not worth the money paid for it! ( And by the way, make sure if you buy this? You read the revews on the side in smaller text! As one reviewer said, "another $1.50 in parts and this would have been an awesome product! ) Beware before you buy! "
5 Stars By Jeff R. on 2017-03-29 Great Little Laptop Stand This is a great little laptop stand. I was trying to find something that wasn't bulky but felt sturdy enough to use constantly. I didn't care for the wheels at all so I never installed them when I got this. The top is a good solid wood, and the frame is strong enough to keep everything from wiggling around when I'm typing or moving my mouse around on it. The lower part of the stand is low-profile enough to fit under my couch, so I can bring my laptop up over my lap and sit properly while doing computer work. Also, the adjustment has a nice range for the height this stand can get to. I bring it all the way down if I want to sit on the floor, or I can bring it all the way up if I feel like standing. I'd buy another one if this one ever breaks or I need a second one.
