I want to play with this chalk.
I'm really not a fan of chalk because I usually can't stand the texture. This sidewalk chalk is different. The texture is almost creamy so I don't have to grit my teeth when drawing with my son. The colors are so rich he and I love to draw for hours. I highly recommend going out to draw just after a good rain. The colors just explode.

A brick of fabulous chalk
When I ordered this as a present, I had no idea I was buying a three kilo brick of rainbow chalk sourced from the other end of the rainbow in Crayolaland. Word to the wise, 48 pieces makes for an awful lot of pieces of sidewalk chalk and probably required our mail carrier to take leave for his bum elbow. I didn't need to do arm day at the gym. My toddler thought I had just given him a Nobel prize and permission to eat as much cake as he could.
I turned him loose on my back patio and gave him leave to be Banksy. He certainly loves scribbling and drawing in the driveway, on the sidewalk, and everywhere else he can find. Like a normal little boy, he can also become covered in chalk. The real burning questions are probably well answered, but I will affirm them.
These are completely non-toxic.
The dust will wash off practically anything, including ground into a pair of khaki shorts.
The chalk doesn't shed dust as fast as other brands I've seen.
Colours stay vibrant and brilliant, but won't resist a good rain or the hose.
Fat pieces don't break easily.
In short, Crayola did what Crayola is famous for, making a kid's colouring product that resists their grabby hands and destructive tendencies well. Parents can be glad they aren't investing in a new scribble on the garage floor for the next 10 years or an entirely new wardrobe because someone keeps painting his pants blue. These are durable bits of chalk that wear down to nubs rather gracefully despite vigorous scribbling.
They also cover a surprising number of colours so the real adult Banksy in your family might be able to make the rest of you feel inconsequential because (s)he can turn out a political statement while your stick figures are parading around. No hard feelings, mysterious uncle. But, seriously, gift these to someone who has a lot of children (they can share) or a long driveway because sky is the limit with creativity and these are wonderful tools to get you there.
Now get down and sketch too. It's fun!

Best sidewalk chalk ever!
I bought these for myself and the little boy I nanny. I love coloring on the driveway with him but I was using so much of his chalk with my large drawing I decided to buy more for us to use. This chalk is so bright and pigmented so well. I drew a picture of Dora the Explorer and the black chalk managed to last a few weeks after it has rained multiple times.
If you want this to be extra vibrant, or any chalk for that matter, take a hose, mist the spot where you are going to draw, and then draw! It makes such a huge difference.

The most delicious collection of colors for an amazing price!
Imagine your box of crayons transformed into sidewalk chalk and this is what you have in this tasty box. There are multiple shades of greens, purples, blues, browns, reds from the faintest hint of color to intense, saturated hues.
Really and truly, you will open this box and stare amazed at the ranges of color!
The chalk does not break easily and is square-shaped so it won't roll away. It lays down smoothly.
My one "complaint" is that it seems to run out faster - I think it may be softer than typical sidewalk chalk - but I believe it is well work it for the colors.
I use these on any sunny day with my children and we create the most amazing drawings and scenes.
Ideal for any artsy family or individual.

Nice selection of chalk colors, but not a perfect product...
This is a pretty nice box of sidewalk chalk. Obviously a lot of colors to choose from.
However, I have a few gripes about this item:
1. They seem to break fairly easily, compared to other sidewalk chalk I've used. For example, I bought a box of generic brand chalk from Target, and I'd say that chalk is more durable.
2. The box isn't a super functional container. The chalk is crammed in there with no space to spare, so it's VERY difficult to get it back in there after use. A big plastic bucket or similar would be a smarter (which I've seen before with other chalk brands.) I suppose you could buy/use your own bucket... something to think about.
3. This isn't a complaint, so much as an observation... you really don't need 48 different colors of sidewalk chalk. The differences between many of the colors are so minimal, they don't look that different on the sidewalk.

great value, pretty colors
This is an excellent value and costs more at my local stores. The colors are bright and a wide selection of pretty shades. I like that they're durable and don't roll down the drive. I'm not sure why some had staining? Everything washed off our drive with rainfall. My 4 year old also got it on jacket and pants and it came out in regular cold wash the next day with no transfer to other clothing.

Makes me wanna draw on the ground all day...
You cannot go wrong with this sidewalk chalk. Not only is it an amazing price, the value is even more impressive. For years, I've been using some cheap brand sidewalk chalk, thinking they were all created equally. That's not correct!
This Crayola chalk is soft, so it draws nicely on cement and fills in well and it doesn't sound like you're scraping rocks on cement while you're drawing. It's not so soft that it's not durable, though, because it holds up well. The colors are beautiful and saturate well on the ground. I just got this box for my almost 4 year-old daughter and she loves them. Now I actually enjoy drawing on the sidewalk, too, because this is some fine quality chalk!

The Best Chalk You'll Find
I dont think I will ever find a better brand or package of chalk . And I have gone through many , many boxes with my son and the neighborhood children . Each individual piece of chalk in this box is a totally different color and you will not get any repeat shades . You might have similar colors but they will be different .
They also range from lighter shades to super bold bright colors . Easily rinsed off the sidewalk and we have never had an issue with them staining out skin or clothing .
I do recommend that you cut each 4 pack open with scissors instead of trying to tear through the plastic as you might break a couple in the process . They are pretty darn sturdy pieces though .also I noticed with these that you might want to watch the price as they go up and down to almost half price at times .
That's a huge bargain when they do and they are wonderful to gift to kids or donate.
I admit that I'm the biggest offender with using up the sidewalk chalk . But it does give me a chance to spend outdoor time with my son and his friends so it's a winner for both of us .
I give these the highest of recommendations . There are really none better in colors or pricing . My only wish is that you could get a couple more black pieces for outlining .

Lasts longer and brighter than other sidewalk chalks.
My teenage daughter is pretty artistic and loves doing drawings on all kinds of surfaces, including chalk art. Shortly after summer vacation started, my daughter started drawing various scenes on the patio and walkways outside out house with a package of sidewalk chalk I had on hand left over from last year. She was practicing for a sidewalk chalk completion she wanted to enter for the 4th of July. In two afternoons she managed to go through most of the box and asked me to order her more. I found Crayola made sidewalk chalk and decided to give that a try.
She drew all kinds of things with it and after about a week I asked her if she found any difference between these and the old, unknown brand of sidewalk chalk we had picked up somewhere. She said that the Crayola chalk was brighter and seemed to last a lot longer. The chalk actually went further while drawing with it.
So while the Crayola chalk may cost a bit more than off-bran sidewalk chalk, it seems to actually go a lot further. So you don't go through it nearly as fast. Add in that it's brighter, and it seems worth paying the extra for it.
