Garbage. Does has nice plush feel
Garbage. Does has nice plush feel, but it totally tore apart at seams after 1 wash per instructions. No kids or pets in home; just myself, an executive in his 50's who formerly owned a highly successful carpet cleaning business and knows a little about carpeting and rugs.

so the mat looks like a wreck
I purchased this bathmat because of the high rating, but after only a month of normal use, the threads in it are falling out in buckets. There are threads all over my bathroom, and they end up in my hallway and even throughout the house from being tracked on shoes. What a mess! You can see the threads coming up from the mat and laying on their sides, so the mat looks like a wreck. Naturally, the mat started coming apart after my 30 day return limit, so I am out $30 since this thing has to be thrown away. I am confused over the high reviews. Either people wrote them before giving the mat time to fall apart, or I got a defective one. Either way, I certainly cannot recommend this product.

Soft rugs, but immediately fell apart
They are indeed soft, but other than that these turned out to be the world's worst rugs for us. We bought two in Fresh Cream, 24"x40", so it was not as if we got one bad or fluke product. The fibers come out of both of them just by looking at them. After the first wash (cold gentle wash, no fabric softener, low dryer) it only got worse. The edges are in tatters. Only the two of us 50-somethings use this bathroom, no kids. This shouldn't happen. The bathroom floor has looked like a carpet fiber war zone since we bought these luxuri-NOT bath mats. I cannot recommend them.

Poorly made - waist of money
This rug started to fall apart the day I first put it in our bathroom. Walking across the rug results in fibers coming off and ending up all over the bathroom floor. What's worse, is when someone uses the bathroom, little fibers somehow follow them when they walk out, and those fibers end up all over my first floor. I'm finding them in the hallway, and in the kitchen. So if figured that I should wash the rug to at least to get rid of the loose fibers. After washing it only once, the edging is coming off, and the fibers are lifting off the rug even more. Very poorly made. I've only had the rug about 2 months. Now I need to find another and just throw this junk away.

In over 35 years of purchasing bathroom area rugs I have NEVER seen such a lousy quality rugs. Stainmaster & its employees should hang their heads in shame to have constructed such a poor quality rug that leaves its threads all over rug itself & bathroom floor. MADE IN USA is displayed on tag. What an embarrassment to have constructed a rug of the quality expected from a Made in China product.
I purchased these 2 rugs to provide traction for my Golden Retriever recovering from surgery to repair a dislocated hip. Otherwise these rugs would have gone back at sign of first loose thread, however I needed rugs & could not risk him slipping.
Guarantee you once he is recovered these rugs are in the garbage. Cannot even use them in the barn for cats to sleep on as one risks the cats ingesting loose threads. Course I could hang them on line in the Spring so the birds can access the threads for their nests.
Save your $.

The edge of the rug came loose from the backing less than six month in. The rug was very lightly used. Up until the rug fell apart, it was very nice to occasionally walk on.

Beautiful rich, soft aqua blue but no elongated.
GREAT quality. But I had to return due to my not reading its a STANDARD size lid, not elongated lid cover. I bought all the other Stainmaster Trusoft cordinating rugs in this beautiful rich Bali Blue - which I kept. This brand/color does not apparently make an elogated lid cover. However, but I found that the JC Penny JCPenney Home™ Ultima Bath Rug Collection Elongated lid (Aqua) matches perfectly in color (slightly less plush & slightly thicker twist yarns than Stainmaster) but acceptable match for this picky woman. It works great together in my newly remodeled bath!

Still the best bath mat for me, but durability, color selection, and pricing are issues
These Stainmaster TruSoft bath rugs are plush and have dimensions that are ideal for my bath, so I am glad I can still find them. Many other bath rug brands don't offer the larger sizes, or run small if they do, and finding something as plush is very difficult.
Durability wise, with only light foot traffic (no shoes) and occasional washing on a gentle cycle per the care instructions, I find they need to be replaced every 3-4 years as the rubber backing tends to degrade. Even with a gentle front loading washing machine it seems like the washing puts more wear on these than simply walking on them. Of course not washing them is not an option for me and I assume most people.
These bath rugs used to be manufactured under the DuPont Antron line and sold by Target under their Fieldcrest brand and Sears under their Colormate brand. They also used to be a lot less expensive and have a better color selection. Now that Invista sells them under the Stainmaster (also a name from DuPont) TruSoft brand they are much more expensive, much harder to find in local retail stores, and the color palette leaves something to be desired. Thankfully the softness and pile height of the fibers remain the same from the DuPont days.

These little bath mats looked and felt so nice, but on the 2nd washing, one of them lost the edge seam in the dryer! These were not inexpensive and as you might imagine, I'm very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend them.

Ultimate soft, cushy comfort rug!
I made this purchase for a different use than most other people, so bear that in mind. We have two dachshunds who sleep in the mud/laundry room. I wanted a rug to catch the draft from the door in cold weather that is also soft for them to sit/lay/roll on. The price was almost a deterrent, but in the end, I'm glad I chose this option. It is unbelievable soft, full & cushy, and the pups LOVE it. So it does get a lot of cuddling, but by two dogs that are 15 lbs or less. We've now had this rug for 2 months and I've spot-cleaned it twice and dried it in the dryer with complete success. I do not know how it will fair in the washer, although I did use a brush to scrub the spots I cleaned, so I think it would be OK, perhaps on a delicates cycle rather than a more "heavy duty" wash cycle. I've seen a disparate bit of rug fiber now and then, but it's certainly not falling apart by any means. If you're in search of the ultimate in softness - and this is like stepping onto a heavenly cloud - and don't expect to tromp on it in work boots or heels regularly, this is truly the lushest rug I've found. I suspect it was made for people wearing slippers or who like to feel the luxurious softness between their toes rather than the bathroom off the entry that people in outdoor shoes utilize.
