Works great, but it is an enabler.
I bought this item as a Christmas gift for my parents, who love to sit outside, but typically do not do so in the late fall/winter time because it gets too cold. They used the gift very soon after I gave it to them. They have taken it out on the pontoon boat and kept the whole boat warm while fishing, but mostly they just use it out on the patio at night. My sister lives next door to my parents, and reports that they used it almost every cool/cold night to sit outside. She has also let me know that sometimes they drink too much wine, and they sit out there under the warm glow of the heater and serenade the night with music they grew up listening to. She is vowing to get revenge on me for this, as their state of inebriation is such that they are apparently singing loud enough to be heard through her closed windows. Aside from the bad juju being sent my way, it's a great product, especially on a good sale.

is sturdy if put together properly and looks great
This patio heater is well worth the price. Came packaged very well, is sturdy if put together properly and looks great. As many reviews indicate the instructions have some problems put if constructed correctly you will have no problems. Make sure to use some real wrenches / sockets to put it together. They supply a "toy"wrench but you will not be able to fully tighten the bolts using it.
Here are corrections to the instructions.
Step 1. You don't need to remove the 4 screws. Just remove the center cap and fill with sand. Recommend you purchase the fine sand used between pavers. Home Depot sells it. Its Paverstone Sand/mix. Its fine and dry so easy to pour in hole.
Step 3. Do NOT tighten the 3 base bolts as suggested until completing step 4. Leave finger tight.
Step 4. After completing this step as outlined in the instructions, than go back and tighten the base bolts in step 3.
Step 8. The instructions say " remove the four small bolts and loch washers from the head assembly." This is incorrect. The four bolts and lock washers are together in the shrink pak. Also it should say to use a washer with all four head bolts as well. St you want to add a washer from shrink pak to each of the 4 bolts. So each will have a bolt, followed by a lock washer, followed by a regular washer.
Step 8.5. Missing in instructions is at this point you thread the gas hose thru the lower pipe and screw the two pipes together at this time.
Step 11.5. Missing is the step to connect the gas regulator valve to the gas hose. Make sure you use two wrenches and that you tighten the hose bolt tightly to the regular. Do not rely on using the play wrench that comes with the shrink pak.
Lastly the lighting instructions are not correct. it says in the instructions to turn the dial between high and low, then to press ignition. This will not work. You need to turn the dial half way between the OFF and HIGH markers. In this position you can press the black dial all the way in. While holding it all the way in press the ignition button once or twice at same time. Flame will start. Hold the black dial in for 20 to 30 seconds to heat the thermo coupler which is required to keep it running on its own. After 20 to 30 seconds release the black dial and now turn it to the desired temp between HIGH and LOW.

the blue film peeled off like butter. Hope this saves someone else the frustration
Delivered as described, works as described. One word of caution- the blue protective film on the heat reflector is damn impossible to peel off if the metal is cold. I didn't realize this and wanted to bash my fists into a wall due to frustration. Once I brought the heat shield inside and used a hair dryer on it, the blue film peeled off like butter. Hope this saves someone else the frustration.

Easy to assemble; works just as you want it to
This is a great product. Inexpensive, easy (and actually kinda fun) to assemble, and it works better than products that cost many times more. Frontgate? Forget about it. Phoenix Heaters? They look great, but don't actually work. But this guy? Ninety minutes after pulling the parts out of the box + moving the propane tank over from the non-functioning Phoenix, and it's working like a champ, silently cranking out the BTUs. If you're in the market for a patio heater and don't mind spending a little time with the (included) wrench and a Phillips-head screwdriver, buy it.

Excellent excellent - get the shorter one
In use for a few weeks now. Easy assembly, follow the starting directions and it started instantly, one push and bam fire and heat.
Outside temps 38-45 degrees some wind/breezes. On an open back porch with the side walls 90% sealed with plastic for winter, heater on full did well but not great. Sitting in normal hight chairs the heat had a hard time reaching us enough to say we were warm. But it knocked the chill off for sure.
I decided to lower the top tubing by 4 inches. Holy Mother - what a difference, easily twice as warm. Keeping the unit at the open front created a kind-of heat wall that really slowed the cold from getting in.
Sitting in chairs the whole space started warming up. (10x12). I own the tools to cut the steel tubing and redrill the mount holes.
The conclusion is get the shorter version unless it's used for a "standing" only area. I'm 6' 2" and this one 4" shorter is perfect now. I used it on a high 40s temperatures sunny day while doing a woodworking project. I actually started getting hot. Diled down the heater and opened my hoodie. *Now that it's shorter when your standing your much closer to the heat and wow it's great.
This unit is awesome, workes perfectly just get the shorter one. Oh, to the review that says it "blew over" in the wind. What?!?!?!?! First if it was that windy what the heck are you doing out there? And the heater is not going to keep you warm in that kind of wind anyway. Remember the "hat" is a heat reflector, no air holes for wind deflection - so a strong wind will treat the down angled top hat like a kite or parasail causing "lift"
FYI I didn't even put any weight in the base (water or sand) just use the weight of the tank for ballast. I also don't leave it out in the yard while not in use - it gets stored up against the house. Out of the wind. 2DayDeliver's $144. price (stainless steel version ) is awesome compaired to others and the quality is great. Be careful with it though, remember it's not a $499.00 version.
The burners, dials, tubing and tank connector are all up to code and quality commercial grade equipment.
***The tubing (the neck) connects to the base (where the tank sits) via 3 support legs rising up and bending in over the tank space. A triangle plate bolts the legs and the tubing (neck) together. Then the igniter, burner head and hat on top of the tubing.
The issue is the round base using 3 legs can not divide the space evenly giving equal strength in all directions because the LP tank has to fit in between two of the legs to sit inside the cover. MEANING it is not as strong in all directions as it could be. Just be awear of this when moving it. That's the 4 stars not 5 rating. See pic.
I would def recommend this heater to any business or home owner but not this tall one at 7 foot 10 inches this thing is a giant. After cutting 4 inches off it's amazingly so much better. Wow!
Most units are 87" (7'3") or 89" (7'5") tall
this one being reviewed is 94" (7'10") tall
So, cutting 4" off got me closer to the 7foot 5" mark - it is definitely better

The rim caught on fire...
I unpackaged and assembled the product today without difficulty. It took about an hour by myself.
Upon testing the product the paint around the rim of the heater caught fire and burned.
I have attached the pictures.
I don't trust the safety of this product.

Easy to install and works well
Bought this to supplement another patio heater I own to ensure I have enough coverage during cold nights. I received it two days ago and was able to assemble it yesterday in short time without any issues. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I could tell that it works pretty well as it provides more heat than my first patio heater (the one with the quartz tube in the center where you see the flame); the original is more for looks than function.
While it is advertised as stainless steel, it is not the high quality finish that I expected. If given the opportunity for a "re-do", I would order the other ones with the coated finish. This is a small gripe, but nonetheless it is a gripe, the burner screen came out of box dented. This may matter more to other potential buyer than it is for me, so buyer beware. I just didn't want to have to ship it back if the damage is cosmetic.

Use a lighter to start it, otherwise 5 star functionality
Easy to set up, right price, puts out great heat. 5 star functionality barring two minor adjustments I had to make (hence the 4 star review). Never managed to get the starter to work, so we just use a lighter each time (no problems, very simple), and had to cut the pole about 12” shorter so that it gave enough heat at medium output to our low-sitting deck chairs (personal problem—not the heater’s fault). Other than that it works fantastic and was a great addition to our patio!

Ordering a replacement in the time frame needed was not possible so I bent it back as best as I could
I would of rated the heater 5 other than the base was damaged. Ordering a replacement in the time frame needed was not possible so I bent it back as best as I could. Fairly easy assembly, a 10mm socket in a power tool will speed things up. Started up easily, puts out good heat.

The top blew off in a tiny wind, and now will not stay on. haven't even used a full tank on it yet. No way to secure top to unit. sad. guessing there must be a recall? Help?!
