really like this belt
I really, really like this belt. The gunmetal buckle looks really sharp with the black leather. The ratchet design is nice and doesn't make a lot of noise when it's empty, unlike other designs like military belts where the locking mechanism will clang around without a belt to hold it in place. The ratchet system is very loud if you pull the belt through the buckle normally, but you can tighten your belt silently if you hold the buckle lever while you adjust it (basically pull the buckle like you were trying to loosen the belt, then pull the belt through the buckle).
I liked this belt so much I got a second one, brown mocha leather with a silver buckle so I could switch the buckles on to either belt.
Note: The buckle does not come attached. This is because the belt comes in a size 48 with markings on the back for where you need to cut to reduce the size. If you don't know your belt size, it is probably your pants' waist size + 2 (i.e. if your pants have a 34 waist, cut at the 36 on the back of the belt, the belt has markers for odd numbers, as well). I used a standard pair of 8-inch multipurpose scissors to cut through the leather, it took a little work, but it got the job done. I would not recommend using a small pair of scissors.
SlideBelt's policy is that they will send you a new belt (not including buckle) if you mess up and cut too short. I haven't had to make use of that policy personally, but it's nice that they have that offer.

Best Belt Ever Made
On first impression I was very surprised at just the box. Very nice packaging with a see through window at the buckle and belt. Upon opening there is a high quality instruction set with pictures, which is printed on a thick plastic a little thinner than a credit card. There is a little man cut-out on the plastic, not sure what its for but I was somehow intrigued. I first removed the buckle, which like everything else was of high quality. Very solid and well made. Then I removed the belt which is great, well stitched with measure markings on the back for easy cut to length. Also there is a built in plastic line or catch when inserted in the buckle locks it in place, another great feature. Combined all together and this is a great product. I ordered both the white and black belts, both of equal quality and design. Company says that if you cut off too much, that they will exchange it it for free within the U.S. I would definitely recommend these to anyone.

Best non-standard buckle ever
Best non-standard buckle ever! I have purchased multiple now. I thought at first that the ratcheting mechanism and slide teeth on belt would fail after some use, however, both have surpassed way beyond my expectations! I still us my fist belt almost daily as a "work belt". I am a bigger guy and my job requires me to put my body in some very awkward positions and this belt buckle has already surpassed even some of my conventional belt buckles. As with all leather belts and long time daily use leather begins to stretch, this belt has not stretched as much as any of my others. Only one minor issue is where the clamping teeth bite into the leather. After months of daily use holes in the leather from the teeth on the very end of the leather start to become opened up and the buckle can come off. Simple solution is to leave the belt long so the end can be trimed after a long time of use allowing the clamping teeth to bite firmly again. I am a little on fatter side and most buckles dig painfully into my fat gut.... Lol.. I don't really have that problem with the slide belt. I have tried less expensive similar looking knockoff belts and they are absolute garbage compared to the SlideBelt brand! Don't waste your money on the knockoffs! I will never buy a different type or brand of belt again! I even wear one with my suits. SLIDEBELT IS AWESOME! BEST BELTS EVER!

Buckle Fell Apart-But Awesome Customer Service
I can honestly say this was my favorite belt until the buckle fell apart one morning. Let me explain: I have used 3 slidebelts for the last 10 months and I truly love them, they are a great product and like I said they were my favorite belt. This morning I went to latch the belt and something was wrong, the lock would not engage. After taking a look at it, it seems the release arm pivot hinge has lost it's lower screw, or rivet, or whatever it is to hold the release arm and the pivot point together. I am not sure I am explaining the piece right, but it is gone. Without that little pin, my wonderful belt buckle is now a scrap piece of metal. At least I can use the leather part with my other slidebelts but for the price, I really expected to get years and years of use from the belts, not just 10 months. If you have one of these, keep an eye on the lower pin, maybe you can drive it back in before your buckle becomes worthless.
UPDATE: The same day I posted about how the buckle fell apart, a comment posted saying to e-mail their customer service. After a few messages back and forth, me explaining what happened and them verifying my purchase, they are sending me a new buckle. In my opinion, this is the way every product should be backed by the company. The reason for 4 stars, even though they will replace the buckle at no charge or hassle to me, I feel the buckle should not have come apart so soon. If they added a little thread locker to the production line then this should not have happened, and you would be doing something else besides reading this review.

on 2016-01-30 Excellent belt, but slightly expensive
For years I have worn a braided belt. I hate having to search for a bolt hole, and the holes never seem to be in the right place. Belts are always either just a little to tight or a little too loose. The problem with the braided belts is that they wear out quickly. The thin leather braid just does not last long.
I saw an ad for slide belts somewhere on the internet and came to 2DayDeliver to check it out. I bought this one, and another, less expensive belt to compare (Marino Men's Genuine Leather Ratchet Dress Belt with Linxx Buckle, Enclosed in an Elegant Gift Box - Custom: Up to 44" Waist - Gold Vintage Buckle with Brown Leather
Overall, I think that this belt is slightly better than the other one. The leather of the belt itself feels slightly thicker. The buckles themselves are identical in how they work. This belt has less space between the end of the ratchet strip and the end of the belt. This does make it fit a little nicer on the waist, at least in my work pants. In jeans, I do not notice a difference between the two, because the belt loops line up differently than my work pants.
Since I seem to like this belt better than the other one, why the four stars instead of 5? Simply because of price. For me, I don't think the differences are that great. Certainly not worth nearly double the cost of the other belt ($45 vs. $25). We'll see how they hold up over time. If this belt lasts significantly longer than the other, I will update the review to 5 stars.

My New "Go-To" Belt - Sharp and Simple
I have two SlideBelts. I didn't think I'd care for the slide technology but I do. It's so much better than stretching leather with holes and buckles with prongs. It always looks sharp, it's incredibly easy to put on and take off and I will certainly buy from them again.
I'm a size 28 waist and it was super easy to cut the belt and make it the right length. No screwdriver needed!
I also worried that there might be some "give" on the buckle's "grasp" but it NEVER slips. I've had these for a while now and have no doubt they'll be with me a long while longer.

Say goodbye to traditional belts!
I purchase my first slide belt several months ago, mostly because it was the only belt I knew of that came in the same shade of gray as my shoes. Months later, I loved the belt so much, I decided to replace my staples: my black and brown belts, with slide belts. Other than looking quite stylish (the mocha leather is a very nice shade and the gunmetal looks awesome) the belt mechanism itself holds strong and allows for precise sizing that's completely impossible with a regular belt. All in all, there really is no reason to buy any other type of belt.
In addition, don't be fooled by imitators, I purchased an off-brand slidebelt (sorry guys), and it felt much cheaper, holds weaker, and is about 5 times heavier. My only suggestions for this otherwise perfect product are as follows:
1) Perhaps utilize an optional second loop (which can be accomplished with a snap button) to even out any extra belt length.
2) Offer a wider belt to wear with jeans. The belts in this series are "formal width" and having a wider belt for more casual affairs would be perfect.

Nice Belt, Great Customer Service
I have owned this belt for over a year and I have liked the belt. The overall look is decent, I would not call it excellent, but it is nice. The leather part of the belt wears out from the clamp on the buckle and you have to trim it every few months. This causes the overall leather belt to get too short over time. When I asked the company about this - they were happy to send me a new leather belt to help me get more life out of the belt. They didn't argue or act like I was an evil monster, they seemed happy to help and sent it right out to my house. I would recommend this belt to others.

This belt is a game changer...and it's so much more fun
The color is hard to match with my current wardrobe but the design is awesome. No more needing to make extra holes when the leather stretches or when the buckle can't get a grip on the fabric or when I drop my winter weight. Throughout the day, my slutty pants usually make several slow-motion attempts to reach the floor (they weren't raised right). Even though I catch them and roughly strap them back into place, tighter than before, they always manage to wiggle out of their restraints. At this point it's just about playing the game for them; if they ever made it to the floor it'd be such a let down. Well, their new handler is super strict (he won't give them an inch) and has them so tightly under his command that they haven't been able to get out of his grip once. I feel bad but he's gotta lay down the law and I know that, with a little time, they'll finally come into the fold. After they're trained, they'll look up to their new commander. Those sluts do love leather.
The belt is darker than the picture with more brown. It's real leather yet thinner than a fabric belt which means you can trim it with a normal pair of scissors to get the perfect size. Do this in a few stages so you don't cut it too short because after six months of everyday use, it's gotten softer and more flexible but it has not stretched out even with me carrying around about 5 lbs of stuff in my pockets everyday. The design spreads the weight out across the buckle instead of a hole in the leather.
The buckle is solid with some weight to it and manages to look awesome but once the belt clicks into place it just quietly does it's job. My pants stay up, the buckle stays dead center, my shirts don't get holes from a belt prong when I bump into the counter, and I never have to look down to unbutton my pants. If you wear a pair with a button up fly then you can get it undone with one hand...and so can anyone else, even in the dark. This combo is a must-have for single guys on the go. Trust me.
I've started to notice that it releases much easier now which I think is a function of the plastic teeth on the back of the belt being worn down. But it still holds and since the buckle is removable, I can swap in a new leather piece. This company has some great colors/styles that are all interchangeable which is why I bought this to begin with. Now that the 6 month trial run is done, I'm gonna buy all the other ones I liked.
My pants are gonna be thrilled...

Belt failed after a year and a half
The belt failed after a year and a half: it ripped totally in two. It's a pretty good buckle: looks good, and solidly built, but the belt itself felt cheap, even before it broke. Most of my belts have lasted for a decade or longer; I've usually changed sizes or fashions before even my cheap belts have worn out.
I recall there being a lifetime guarantee of some sort on the belt, but it looks like it's only a limited 1-year warranty now. Customer service was nice enough to send me a new one anyway.

Easy on, and easy off—with style
I should get another couple of colors. This belt is fantastic, and opens so easily. I bought another ratchet belt that is very difficult to open, and sometimes that's as inconvenient as it is painful to the thumbs. It's not like the other one was cheaper or anything... just not as easy to use. Too bad, though, since I loved the buckle design.

Great belt, and excellent customer service!
I got this belt and it is the first belt I've had that I really like enough to put in a good review. I had some issues with the attachment from buckle to belt, and I called SlideBelts about it and they responded with a replacement, as they have upgraded their system since my purchase. Excellent customer service!

Love these belts. I bought 2 of them and couldn't be happier. you can choose to cut them down to your size or leave them as is. Personally id suggest them plus sized men who have difficulty finding the right belt. These are not only stylish but easy to use and last a long time. My favorite feature about this is that i never worry ill grow out of it and if i do i can always cut it without worrying about cutting new holes

Good leather but you must trim/cut the belt to a proper fit.
Nice leather, that you must trim to fit your waist. I had hoped the belt would be more like the military style web cotton belts that allow you to adjust the buckle along the belt & so maintain "expansion" length while still having the belt fit properly. Other than that I like the belt & have worn it for a week with good results.

It works great as long as there is tension on the leather ...
For the most part works very well. My only complaint is the mechanism used to attach the buckle to the leather strap. The mechanism is essentially a set of metal spikes on a rotating latch. It works great as long as there is tension on the leather strap, but multiple times when I removed the belt the buckle would too easily fall off the end of the leather strap. I loved the ratchet belt concept and so didn't want to throw the whole belt away - I ended up securing the buckle to the leather strap with sugru.

This belt is exactly as advertised and I love it!
I tried the Comfort Click first and returned it because the belt slipped inside the buckle and would not hold at all. This belt is exactly as advertised and I love it!! I thought I was ordering Black and actually ordered Brown. I will be ordering another one - this time Black!!

Great Belt and Highly Recommended!
I have a few of these and have been giving them as gifts for the last year. Everyone so far has thoroughly enjoyed theirs. These belts are classy enough to go out on the town but comfortable enough to use for day to day activities. I especially like being able to adjust my belt size without a lot of (potentially) awkward movement around my waist, nor does it take a lot of time/effort.
Great product and highly recommended for anyone requiring a belt on a day to day basis (or more).

No more ordinary belts for me!
This is my second Slidebelt and I've bought a third as a gift. I now have my sights set on the canvas collection.
I no long consider wearing any of my traditional belts. The ease of making minute adjustments throughout the day is something you won't want to give up.
The belt is easily cut to size with household scissors using the guide on the underside. The belt and buckle are no heavier than any quality belt. For those reviewers who find that the ratchet mechanism is too noisy, that's easily resolved by holding the release lever while tightening.
The only improvement I would like to see is for the adjustment teeth to be moved closer to the end so that, while using the middle of the adjustment range, the belt won't overlap as much. I admit that I've bought all of my belts on Lightning deals which were true bargains. The full price does approach the limit of what a belt should cost in my mind. That said, I would sooner spend that money for a Slidebelt than an ordinary belt with a designer label.
Besides, there's one more feature not mentioned in the description -- a bottle opener built into the back of the buckle! Really!!
Now what designer belt has that??

Best Belt Ever!
Best belt ever! If you go up and down in weight and constantly need to make adjustments this is the belt for you. I like it so much I have purchased three different ones. You simply cut the belt to the desired length and attached the belt buckle. When you put on the belt you'll hear it click, once it fills comfortable, just stop. If you need to loosen it or take it off, just pull open the belt buckle face plate. Perfect fit all day long!

This is the second SlideBelt I have purchased (the other one was black, this one is brown). Best belt I have ever had! Definitely lives up the the hype. Only recommendation for buyers - cut the belt a bit longer than you need to. After a few months, the first buckle started losing its grip on the end of the belt. I cut off about 1/2", and the problem was solved!
