The perfect grilling station!
This grill right here...Damn! I've only had it for about 3 weeks but in that short time I've made more flavorful memories than 15+ years of using a gas grill.
The 15502001 Performer Deluxe came with everything needed, plus more. The hinged grilling grate with interchangeable center portion is the bees knees. Along with the two included charcoal trays, indirect grilling is made simple.
Assembly was a breeze with the instructions and took me about 35 minutes. The only thing not included was the propane for the charcoal lighter option, which was only $5 for two bottles at the local Wally World.
Do yourself a favor and pick up the Weber charcoal chimney starter. I never would have thought it would be that simple to light coals without fluid.
On my third time firing it up, I did three racks of ribs using a rib rack. I put the rack in the center with each coal tray under the hinged grate on each side and a drip pan with water in the center under the ribs. I got the temps to around 250° closed the top and checked each hour. Only 8 coals and 1 two inch chunk of cherry wood were needed during hours 2 & 3 to maintain the temp and smoke. At the end of the third hour we had delicious, smoky, tender, juicy ribs.

Hands down THE best grill I have ever owned
Hands down THE best grill I have ever owned. Will never buy a gas grill again. Always preferred charcoal to gas but this grill makes lighting charcoal a breeze. Propane ignition lights charcoal in minutes, I have not had to use a chimney nor lighter fluid once. Well made and solid, easy to assemble. Built it a week ago and will be using it for a 3rd time tonight. Love the metal work surface, seems like the coating will stand up to wear and tear, and the charcoal bin. There is absolutely zero that I can say that isn't stellar about this grill. TIP: Buy the Yukon Glory cover. It fits perfectly even though it says it's not for 2015 models (not sure why) and won't blow off like the weber brand cover.

on 2016-04-20 If you love charcoal but hate lighter fluid, buy this!
If you are a charcoal fan, this is the absolute coolest grill you can buy. I love cooking on charcoal, but always hated dealing with lighter fluid. This grill eliminates the need for lighter fluid by utilizing a camp sized propane bottle and push button igniter to light the charcoal briquettes. It only takes five minutes of the flame burning to get enough bricks going. A small propane bottle will last many times, and they are really affordable. The side table is very useful for prepping and removing items from the grill. The grilling surface has a removable inner ring that can be used to reach down through with some tongs to re-position the two charcoal baskets for direct or indirect cooking. I easily make 450 degrees and sustain that for plenty of cooking time. The lid holder on the grill is a great and useful feature that allows you to slid the lid off onto the side. I hated sitting my lip on the ground with my old Weber. Cleanup is a breeze with the easy to remove ash bin. I always keep mine cover with Weber 7152 Grill Cover with Storage Bag for Performer Premium and Deluxe, 22 Inch
and it still looks like new after a wet Oregon winter. The charcoal bin under the prep table is great for holding a large bag of charcoal.

Best Grill I Have Owned
No question - the best grill I have ever owned. I was ready to buy the Platinum, and then read about this new Deluxe model for 2015. The lid rests at a much better angle when opened, the grill is a bit taller, the metal table is a great upgrade, and the gormet grill grate was a bonus that I didn't appreciate until I had it home.
Like the Platinum, a gas starter makes it simple enough to use any night of the week.
If you are thinking about this one, don't hesitate. If you are deciding between charcoal grill models, just buy this one. It's a high end charcoal grill, and I can't imaging wishing I had bought a different one.

Great Grill but had a bad regulator that did not shut off completely
Great Grill, but had to replace the regulator. I noticed a gas smell after I turned the regulator to off but didn't think much about it thinking it was residual gas. After using up 3 bottles of gas in 3 months time I realized that I had a problem. I did a soap spray test and could not find any leaks so I took the regulator, hose and connected gas bottle off the grill and put them in the sink filled with water and I found that gas was leaking out of the end of the hose at the brass fitting exit hole. The brass fitting connects via a spring clamp to the lower gas tube on the grill. Evidently the gas turn off knob was defective. I called Weber and informed them of the problem and the gal I spoke to told me this was the first time she heard of a knob not working correctly in the 12 years she worked at Weber.
NOTE: THE SOAPY WATER SPRAY MAY NOT WORK TO DETECT LEAKING GAS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE GAS TURN ON/OFF KNOB.
The Weber representative (after escalating the problem to a supervisor) agreed to send me a replacement regulator and hose assembly.

This is an amazing grill! You have the flavor and taste of ...
I have been using a gas grill for years because the hassle with charcoal and just a pain to light. This is an amazing grill! You have the flavor and taste of charcoal or wood but the convenience of gas! Great idea Weber and works very well!
Comes with excellent visual instructions and very easy to put together. It took about an hour to assemble.
I considered the Weber Premium grill because it is cheaper, but I am more than happy that I went with the Deluxe. Electronic Touch-N-Go™ gas ignition system is best money I have spent in a long time. Get your charcoal prepared, turn on the gas, hit the lighter button and bam you’re on your way to great steaks!
Grill is made of high quality materials and does not feel cheap in any way. The table top is excellent and a real plus. I was amazed with how heavy duty the grates are with this grill, not like your box store cheap grills. I also like the idea of storing charcoal right there in the bin.
I would totally recommend this grill, you will not be sorry!
Update - more of a recommendation - Get a Propane Adaptor hose. Why, because you can connect your standard 20 lb gas grill propane cylinder to the Weber instead of using the disposable 1 lb cylinders. Cheaper to operate over the long run and more environmentally friendly.

Best Grill EVER!!!!!!
This is the BEST grill I have ever had. I love to grill with charcoal because of the great flavors. This grill has a propane gas lighter to start the charcoal. So there is no mess and it is so fast to light the charcoal. I also like the trays so you can move the charcoal to the sides or where ever you want the hot coals. And this grill works great as a smoker. We cook everything from shrimp to steaks to all day smoking of a large pork butt. I highly recommend this grill. This is my second one. I gave the first one I bought in 2010 to my son. He loves it and it still works great. The grill table attached is awesome. It makes it easy to have your plates right by the grill. I would give this 10 stars if that was an option!!!

Beware!!! Ash catcher ring melted and started fire under the grill - destroying everything under the table. Weber will NOT honor the warranty. Be aware of that. Ash catcher is made from aluminum and will melt eventually.

This grill is so beautiful and functional
This grill is so beautiful and functional. Easy to clean out the ashes, easy to grill and smoke on, easy to work at with the table.
The propane starter works, though I usually use it to light the paper in my chimney (don't leave it in the bowl--it gets HOT in there). Charcoal baskets work great too.
The center of the cooking grate will fall out if you use the provided hanging location. Not a fan of the "gourmet" system overall. I'll just fasten the center so it stays in place. I do like the lift-able sides to add charcoal, though.
I had an old Weber kettle years ago that I liked cooking on, but I had to lift the whole thing up to dump the ashes, and when I did that the legs would fall out of their sockets, and there was no prep area. This grill solves all those issues and gives great results.
Only thing I wish it had was an adjustable height for the charcoal grate. But that has been much less an issue than I had anticipated.

Auto lighter has not been dependable.
I do like it and it cooks nice. Way better than any gas grill I've had. Only problem is the gas lighter quit in the first season, so until I get time to clean it all up and disassemble the gas system and figure out what's wrong, I'm using the old squirt on fluid.
