That's 1056 watts and the motor is a 1000 watt device. So this is adequate power but the four batteries weigh 52 pounds. The minimum recommendation in the original ad was for 17ah, and right below was a 14ah Li-Ion pack for sale for $424. I calculate that at 672 watts output. so, if you want to go max, you'd need more battery. Yet, with 52 pounds of batteries, the question is, are the extra watts worth it to haul the extra weight? Today was the first ride down the driveway and into the street... it took about 3 weeks to get it all together. I still have to detail the wiring a bit and add exposed terminals to fit the charger. The bike itself is a two year old Toys R Us job that sat outside under a tarp for two years. Tell me what you think? Questions?
5 Stars By beverly boulianne on 2016-11-06 It work like they advertise I bought this Front Wheel Electric a month ago for my Trike, It work like they advertise, I give a 5 because it's very easy to install and when I bought it, it show you should buy the Kit with 4 x 12 volt Batteries and 1 charger. I should give a 4 because the charger come from a seller who send me a defect charger and I had to reorder it. 2DayDeliver gave me a Store Credit because the Seller did answer my complaint in the first 24 hours and I reorder it, I got a new Charger yesterday and it work good. By the way be careful before You use the Charger first time it need to be polarized, mean you cut the pig tail cable and you switch the cable (2) only, Exemple Very IMPORTANT : the Brown with the Black. If you look on the Pig Tail it show *N* = *+* and *L* = *-* it's probably made like this because it's From China. In USA we use a common sense like this : *N* = Ground and *L) = Load so don't forget before You use it first time to CUT the pig tail and Switch it because You will Fried the Charger. Good luck and enjoy your Ride with an Electric Wheel.
5 Stars By Jim on 2016-12-09 Better than a Motorized bike. Loved it so much I bought a second. this is almost no hassle, I had to weld a platform at the low end of the bike to hold the 4 S:A batteries I needed to run the wheel, Wheel does come with a 48 volt charger so when it is all connected just use that charger. Some wheels out there don't come with all the correct parts you will need this one does but don't try putting rack on back of n=bike if you use SLA batteries, it is 7.5 lbs per battery most bikes are rate at 220 lbs so you and the batteries. if you place them low on frame like I did you wont have that issue but your should still replace your back tire with one that holds at least 50psi of air this will allow you to carry 300 lbs total on back wheel which is you plus whatever.
5 Stars By Matthew Smith on 2017-06-29 Easily gets me up a hill Built my e-bike beach cruiser tricycle using this as the front wheel motor. Unbelievable power and torque. Had to trade the stock forks for some durable mountain bike forks. Beach cruiser forks had trouble with the torque this motor produces. Used it first on a bicycle and it topped out at about 28 MPH. On the tricycle it hits almost 35 MPH on flat terrain. Easily gets me up a hill. Instructions were easy to understand despite the typos. I used four 12 volt batteries wired in series from an old mower. It works great. Have gone as far as 5 mile on a charge. Highly recommend this motor. I was surprised how simple it was to do myself.
4 Stars By Christopher Bosco on 2017-11-21 Almost 5 stars Have had this for a few weeks now and am pretty well satisfied with it. As many know, the kit comes with just the most minimal instructions. Fortunately, an even reasonably handy person can figure out how to install it. I mounted it on my front wheel and it has a lot of power. I learned quickly (the first time I pressed the throttle, in fact) that it will rip the ends off an aluminum fork! But after replacing it with a rigid steel fork and installing a pivot arm it's been smooth sailing. It would have been nice to know about the aluminum restriction before ruining a really good suspension fork, but... I was under the impression this kit was a dual mode, but I can't figure out how to activate it so I just use it throttle only. I'm a 270 lb guy and this motor moves me around very nicely. I estimate i can hit 27 - 28 mph on a flat rum! So all in all, I'm a pretty happy camper. I have contacted the mfg and hope to be getting some guidance on how to activate the pedal assist mode soon.
5 Stars By Daryl Wallace on 2017-07-07 This wheel work even better then said This wheel work even better then said. But let me say this dont get it twisted its not for kids and it really will take 48v to power it up . What ever you do think safety first enjoy
3 Stars By Millard Scudder on 2017-08-08 It is easy to install with 2 items to be aware of It is easy to install with 2 items to be aware of. I have an older bike, so I needed torque arms so the wheel stays in place. I found an easy solution @ my hardware store for less than $5.00. The other issue was that the wires were opposite for my battery and I had to switch them. I'm a "healthy guy" so it tops out at about 25+ mph. That's almost as fast as my old moped when I was in high school. So far I've enjoyed it for my riding style.

4 Stars By 2DayDeliver Customer on 2016-05-22 Works great, I used some 10ah batteries Works great, I used some 10ah batteries. Easily does 28mph. The charger did not work however; I think the polarity was wrong and I fried it.
