5 Stars By Gadget Enthusiast on 2015-10-27 It works! Read the product description.. I’ve been excited for this product to arrive ever since the Xbox One controller was released. The Xbox One controller feels much better than the 360 ergonomically, and I wanted to make the switch over when playing games such as Rocket League. In the meantime, I’ve sufficed by plugging in via USB cable, but if I stream from my TV, it’s much more difficult. The USB dongle is big, I’m not gonna lie. The nice thing is that it is slim, so you won’t have issues plugging in other USB devices next to it if they’re in vertical parallel but it’s definitely long, and a little wide. Looks like an older USB wifi dongle. I had to remove my Logitech dongle to fit it into my laptop, where they are all horizontal in series. Note, there is a USB extender cable included in the box that you can use to prevent this issue. I would actually recommend using it, to prevent any potential interference from being plugged in close proximity to other devices. On my desktop, I was connected via USB 2.0, on my laptop I was connected via USB 3.0. I noticed no difference in performance, the dongle worked on both ports. After plugging the unit into my computer, the drivers installed automatically. I restarted for good measure, then pressed the sync buttons on my controller and the dongle simultaneously. White light flashes while searching, then goes solid after paired. Same went with my controller. You can do this to connect multiple devices. It does NOT disconnect currently connected devices, they remain paired. I tested using Rocket League (pretty much the only game I’m going to be using right now), the device worked flawlessly without any issues for me. Moving to my laptop connected to my tv downstairs, I comfortably played again at a distance of ~15 feet from the dongle with no issues, either. Again, the laptop is running Windows 10. The controller will automatically sleep after inactivity, just like a 360 controller. Merely press it and it’ll wake up and automatically connect to the dongle again, no problem. My computer makes a connection sound when it detects it’s woken up. Pressing on the home key with Steam running launches Big Picture mode. I have literally only owned this product for less than an hour, but so far everything is working swimmingly. • I am using Windows 10, as it is a stated requirement for the dongle to work. So if you are using 7 or 8, be prepared for incompatibilities. I tested on my friend’s desktop running Windows 7, and the drivers would not install. • I used an Xbox One controller (Titanfall edition) – I did try my 360 controller but it did not work, as was expected. • Everything worked out of the box for me. After the driver installed, I did restart my computer before trying to use the controller. • Controller works fine at least 15 feet away from the dongle. I did not try further yet. • The dongle was not loose in the USB port, as another user commented. It does ‘shift’ slightly, but there’s no worry of it falling out or losing connection randomly. I will later test to see if this is compatible with my Steamlink, and update accordingly.
I see lots of people disgruntled that it's only compatible with Windows 10, and that it's a surprise. Read the product description. It says it's only for Xbox One controllers and Windows 10. Seriously people, read!
5 Stars By Dodd Rivers on 2017-03-01 Plug and Play - Windows 10 x64 Glad I was able to use this in conjunction with an existing controller to connect to PC/Steam when my wired controller went down. Since I already had Xbox One and some wireless controllers, this was much cheaper than buying a whole new controller. The OEM Microsoft controllers are sturdier and better built than the knockoffs anyway. Also, the added benefit of wireless is nice.
The only downside is that I think wired controller input may be slightly faster, not that the input lag is really noticeable.
5 Stars By Tony Ortale on 2016-02-22 Awesome awesome awesome! I'm so happy I finally purchased this. I've been using this for a few months now and it has worked flawlessly. Whether streaming from the Xbox or using it to play local PC games, there's no detectable lag input and I haven't had any issues connecting controllers or maintaining connectivity. It's even handled multiple controllers simultaneously while streaming from the Xbox with no problems! I would highly recommend this to anyone who's considering it.
5 Stars By Northwest Dad on 2017-11-13 There's no lag time, works great Bought this for my Xbox One Recon wireless controller I use on my Lenovo Thinkpad laptop running Windows 10. I primarily use it for games purchased from Steam.com, and it works great. Stick it in the USB, power on the controller and the lights blink then go solid indicating a connection. There's no lag time, works great. I usually sit about 6 feel from my laptop so not sure how far the distance allows, but so far absolutely no glitches or complaints. I haven't used the extended USB cable that comes with it, I plug the adapter into my laptop USB directly. It's a little larger than other USB type remotes, it's 1" wide, by 3" long, by 1/4" deep. Recommend!
5 Stars By John Zamora on 2016-09-20 Controller Support - Simplified! I've been using this device for about a week now, and in that time, I've tested it using The Witcher 3, One Piece: Burning Blood, and Attack on Titan. After extensive testing, I can say that this is the most ideal solution for someone looking to play PC games using an Xbox One controller. I've heard that you cannot use this device with any operating system aside from Windows 10, which is perhaps the only real caveat about this device, but since I am running a Windows 10 system, this was not an issue for me.
The device worked the instant I plugged it into my computer. I stared at my screen for a few moments waiting to see a driver notification pop-up, but nothing happened. I thought there was an issue at first, but it wasn't until I synced my controller that I realized everything was working well. It's like Microsoft built Windows 10 with this adapter in mind, and not vice-versa! I didn't even need to map the controller or change any settings in the three games I listed above, as they all instantly recognized the layout of the Xbox One controller and adapted accordingly. I'm sure not all games are going to go this smoothly, but we can map the buttons any way we'd like, so there is no need for instant recognition.
If you're someone looking to play third-person titles with a controller, or just looking to play the Xbox Play Anywhere titles with your friends on the Xbox, this is the best solution for you. Of all the controller adapters I've tried in the past, this has been the easiest one to use, so I cannot recommend it enough!
5 Stars By Alfredo De la rosa on 2017-05-10 Avoid the hassle of wires It's pretty easy to use, almost plug and play, you just need to sync this receiver by pushing the button until a white led flashes, then press the silver button on the controller until it flashes white too and that's it.
But keep in mind that to use the controller tirelessly you'll need to add either two AA batteries or buy a battery specifically used for the xbox one controller, for some reason buying only the battery costs around 25 dollars but you can buy the charging stand-battery combo for 20 dollars, and it's even a Microsoft branded battery and stand, you you can choose a third party one (I use and insignia combo and it work perfectly)
5 Stars By Lon J. Seidman on 2015-10-30 It works! Plug and play on Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 Works great! As long as you're running Windows 10 it couldn't be simpler. Plug it in, pair up an Xbox One controller, and it's up and running. Up to 8 controllers, four pairs of mono headsets (with microphone) work too. Rumble works as expected. Basically everything it did while connected via USB works here.
Note on compatibility: It now supports earlier versions of Windows: 7, 8.1, and 10. It does NOT work with devices that normally do work with the Xbox One controller plugged in. I tested it on a Steam Link, Nvidia Shield Android TV, a Mac, and many other devices. The only thing it did work with was a Windows PC.
The nice thing with this is that you can buy a cheap Windows Mini PC or tablet and use that cheap computer to stream games from Steam as well as Xbox One to other televisions in the house. Cool stuff.

5 Stars By Stephen Mahanes on 1969-12-31 Works great on Windows 10, but why no support for older versions? Games tested: Dark Souls 2: SotFS, Gauntlet
PRO: -In terms of reliability and latency, this works about as well as a USB cable. Very impressive. -Great for multiplayer! Supports many controllers concurrently. -Can provide audio input and output from the controller's audio jack. -Easy to use: plug it in, sync your controller(s), and fire up your games. No extra steps required, no complexity.
CON: -Expensive for a basic adapter. -According to Device Manager, this product counts as a networking device, rather than a controller adapter. Very strange. -Only one OS Supported: Windows 10. What about linux support? How about older versions of Windows?
I like it. I'll keep using it for a long time. I just wish it had been released sooner.
5 Stars By Steven on 2015-12-18 This is so much better than using a wire. My old wireless adapter died a few months back which was a bummer but then I heard about this wireless adapter being released soon and that it lets me use the xbox one controller and I have to say, the controller on the xbox one is so much better than the old 360 controller. Sometimes I game on my monitor or on my HD TV which is a few feet away and I never have any issues with the adapter. It Just works flawlessly. They took a long time to finally release this but it was worth the wait.
I ended up putting velcro tape on it and I put it on the side of my phantek case. Doing this makes it more simple to link a controller to the adapter. I took a pic to show what I mean. I think it came out great. All In all this is really a nice little device and I don't have anything bad to say about it at this time.
