Not only did they ship me a free replacement unit they didn't ask the broken stand in return.
This headphone stand is beautiful. I love the way it looks and how it cleans up desk clutter. The 3 USB ports in the front will run at full USB 3.0 speeds, providing you plugged the stand into a USB 3.0 port. Also, it's not a powered hub, which isn't a bad thing. My headphones are off the desk now though and they look great on display. The headphone port isn't high quality, but that's no issue i didn't expect to get a $200 USB digital audio converter in my $35 headphone stand.
My first unit was dead on arrival, now I originally gave this a 1-star review. But Satechi's customer service contacted me because they wanted to make sure I was happy with their product. They sent me a tested and working perfect unit, gave me 2-day shipping, and it was free of charge. This speaks volumes to me, they are a solid service dept. and I would never be afraid to buy from them again.
Why 5 stars then? Not only did they ship me a free replacement unit they didn't ask the broken stand in return. To compensate me for my time and disappointment. That was incredible and i wish all other sales companies worked more with their customers in mind.

A little expensive, but a stylish and useful solution to a mundane problem.
This is admittedly a bit pricey for a can stand, but it has a nice clean appearance that goes well with the rest of my PC setup and incorporates a handy USB 3.0 hub (perfect for charging wireless headsets!) in the base. It arrives well-packaged and after slotting the upright into the base and connecting the provided USB 3.0 cable, you're good to go. The base has a lot of weight to it, preventing the stand from tipping over even with a fairly heavy headset perched on its padded arm. I didn't pay much mind to it in the product picture or description when I ordered it, but I also appreciate the built-in loom on the back of the arm, which allows you to wind up unused cable largely out of sight.

Pleased with the quality made product and extra useful features. Sturdy!
Wow I am impressed! I ordered this because my expensive headphones have been neglected and left laying on the desk. When looking through headphone stands my primary reason was to find one that felt sturdy and looked sleek. Well the Satechi does both of those, and very well I might add. It sits perfectly flat, is plenty heavy enough to not tip over from holding headphones, and even has a non-slip material on both the bottom and the top where the headphones rest. This keeps them from shifting and falling off. However, what really impressed me about this product is the extra features. It is powered by USB through your computer and has 3 additional USB ports in the front as well as a standard audio jack. These extra USB slots have been soooo efficient for me as I only have 5 on my laptop and am currently using all of them, so this gives me more available ports to use. It works to plug in my mouse, headphones, and external hard drive and seems to work just as if I was physically plugging them into the computer itself. Also on the back of the stand is a cord organizer, handy for wrapping extra slack you may have to keep your work space nice and tidy.
I haven't had the stand for very long so I can't comment on how long it will last but it seems to be made of higher quality material so I have no doubts it will be fine. Also as a bonus, the package arrived 2 days earlier than predicted! A nice surprise for me. I highly recommend this product, especially if you're on the fence, as this is certainly worth the money compared to other headphone stands that are priced similar but made of plastic or don't come with the additional features.

Great features on this headphone stand
I am a headphone nut and have several stands. This one is unique and adds some great features. My problem with most stands is that you have nowhere to put the headphone cable. They solved this with an attachment on the back that you can wrap the cable around. I typically wrap the cable very loose, so I can just pull the cable off the attachment, but you can wind it tight if you don't mind unwinding the cable when you want to use it.
The big benefit is the USB ports. Rather than waste space with a hub, you can just use the stand to plug in a card reader or USB stick. I also like the way the thing looks on my desk. Heck, they even included a headphone port right on the stand, so they must have a DAC inside the base. I already have an external DAC, so I don't plan on using that feature now, but it is nice to have in case my setup ever changes.
All in all, for a headphone stand that you keep on a desktop, this one does it all.

An excellent, well thought-out product
I was having a hard time deciding between this and the SilverStone unit, especially b/c I love Silverstone products. But I chose this unit due to the following reasons (in order of importance):
1. The cable manager. I try hard to keep cables neat, and the cable manager this stand offers tells me Satechi thinks about this too, while the SilverStone designers either didn't, or otherwise didn't prioritize it. The one this stand offers is hidden at the rear of the stand and works perfectly.
2. USB ports, which make charging my phone or connecting a usb drive a tad easier and more accessible. Another example of great options and additional thought that went into the product.
3. Price. After considering #1 and #2, and seeing that this stand at about half the price of the Silverstone, the decision to purchase this one became easy.
The quality, finish, and weight are all excellent. The stand is sturdy and doesn't shift easily if it's inadvertently bumped, and it presents very well.
Overall this is an excellent piece from Satechi that surely won't disappoint.

Great stand, flawed charging abilities (will not charge Apple devices from wall charger)
Works great. Really like having the 3 USB ports on the front. Nice and strong and do not have to worry it will topple over.. Would be nice to have a a couple of USB ports toward the back to hide some cables while charging.
Had to take away a couple of stars. While the USB ports will charge some low power items (such as a battery for my headphones) it will not charge my iPhone 6S while plugged into a wall chargers. I keep the stand by my desk to hold my headphone which I use at night to listen to my iPhone or iPad. When I purchased the stand I was willing to pay more for the extra ability to charge my Apple devices. Seems like a strange ability to leave out of a otherwise very nice stand.
I will keep the stand, but I feel like it is too expensive for its limited capabilities.

Received a defective product but manufacturer came forward and corrected the problem.
UPDATE - The unit I purchased failed immediately so I returned to 2DayDeliver and left a poor review. After posting the manufacturer contacted me through email to apologize and offer me a replacement, free of charge. The replacement was rush shipped and has been working for a few months now with no problems. It appears my original purchase was simply defective.
The only complaint I have with the product is that the area supporting the headset is rather narrow. This means if your headset has padding at the top it will be compressed by hanging on this stand.
The unit also has a USB audio device built in (headphone only, no mic) which I was not aware of at the time of purchase. I simply disabled it in windows and all is fine. I am removing my previous 1 star rating and replacing with 4 stars because of the helpful customer service but problematic compression of headphone padding.
Initial unedited review is below:
The USB hub in the base shorted out after a few hours. I would have given it 3 stars and ordered a replacement, but when I contacted Satechi support they actually gave me instructions on how to disable the USB port error message in windows and told me to just keep using it. If I had followed their advice I would have risked burning out the USB 3.0 controller on my motherboard. Buy from this company with caution, the product may be aesthetically pleasing but their support is uneducated at best.

not good as a hub or headphone stand.
I bought this based on the reviews. But it has one major function and one minor function and they're both a miss!
1) It's supposed to be a headphone stand, unfortunately the base in convex so inspite of having a grippy bottom, it only contacts on a single point. As a consequence it spins around at the slightest touch making it unwieldy.
2) It's a USB hub, and apparently it also has a USB sound card built in. My problem with this is they use a very short and very non-standard USB3.0 cabe. It's male on both ends so I can't just dig up a longer one and if I loose the supplied cable then I can't use the hub anymore (not that it matters because like I said the cable is too short, so i'm not using it.)

Excellent Stand and 3.0 USB Hub
Amazing build quality and simple installation. No extra drivers were needed on my Windows 10 machine. Knocked off one star as audio from the headphone jack on the stand did compress audio slightly compared to directly connected to my PC. Settings were exactly the same on both. Not a huge issue but maybe something that can be improved on for later models.
Also, why no black or gunmetal color? Silver is nice as it matches my headphones but a black color would match my home decor better.
