Just as effective as a wood IR sauna
I would visit a local spa to use their infra red sauna twice a week, to relieve the pain of Lyme disease treatment. I loved my sessions but it was very costly in terms of time and money - 20 minutes travel each way, and $20 each 30 minute session adds up fast. I wanted to have access to a sauna for treatments whenever I needed them as the pain was often at its worst late in the evening. I don't have the room or the funds to have a wood sauna at home, so after much research I decided to chance this model.

This is the larger version of the BSA6310, and is distributed by Blue Wave products.I checked their website and this model isn't listed which I find strange as it's much nicer than the 6310 - it's larger, there are 4 infrared panels instead of 3, and a nice 'Director's Chair' with padded armrests inside, and a negative ion generator box in the back (no mention of what the ions do apart from sanitizing the sauna). It took me all of 5 minutes to set it up and get it heating; the manual says it takes 10 minutes to reach a temperature of 150F. There are 5 temperature presets from 113F to 150F; I use the wood sauna at 140F so I started with that temp, heated it up and climbed in.

The heat is dry and comfortable, identical to the wood sauna. The first thing I noticed is that I started breaking a sweat much faster! I also sweat more with the portable sauna, I was able to break a sweat over my entire body for the first time. The heat is pretty uniform, slightly cooler in the front where there is no FIR panel, but the front of my body still completely broke out in a sweat; even the front of my lower legs so it doesn't seem to matter. There are zipped cutouts for the hands, one larger pocket on the left side and 2 smaller pockets on the right - one is taken by the sauna remote. I always drink a liter of water with electrolytes during my session and found it awkward to manage the water bottle; when it was full I kept it inside the sauna and once it was half empty it was light enough that I could insert it in the larger pocket without having the front cave in.

The seat is pretty comfortable especially the padded armrests, and it didn't interfere with the sweating process. Of course it's not the same experience as a wood sauna, you don't have that awesome relaxing wood scent and ability to lie down on the bench but for the price and the ability to do daily FIR treatments at home I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

Many pros...One big con :(
This is a beautiful sauna - well built and SO very easy to set up. Not too heavy for just me to get it up the stairs by pushing it along. Very roomy too with a strong little chair. It boasts four panels to give really good coverage and a foot pad. The chocolate brown exterior is very nice and low key visually. BUT... I have to return it because I am concerned about the electro-magnetic field issue. Though the item description said it had the four low EMF panels, upon testing them I find that my meter reads into the highest red zone for EMF. Let me explain... There is one area where this unit is indeed low EMF - that is right in the middle where, say, your abdomen would be if you sat in the chair. But the projection of the EM field is at least 10 inches from every panel into the interior. That means there is really no place an adult body could escape from the EM field while enjoying what I am sure would be an otherwise very nice sauna time. Very sorry I cannot go with this product. I think I will research more to find if there are any truly low EMF saunas - I only bought into their product description of "low EMF" :(

High-quality sauna for this price.
This is the best thing I've ever invested in for my health. I set it up last night and sat for 15 minutes at 130 degrees, while listening to a guided meditation. All my stress of being a working-from-home-mom with little ones around me all day melted away. I was very impressed with the quality of the workmanship, and was actually expecting, for this price, for it to be more flimsy. I'm so very happy with this purchase. My only gripe, and it is a small one, is the BEEP that the remote makes. I was in la-la-land and that beep was kind of obnoxious. I think I'll set it for longer than wanted and use a chime on my phone or something. Otherwise, bravo!

It heats and I sweat...
I have had this for a week and I am very glad that I ordered an XL sauna. So my first impressions are that it is well made and a very easy set up in just a couple of minutes. The stool is nice and wide and fits inside nicely. I am 6'1 and 225 pounds, definitely not monster sized, and I have just enough room. I did not give it 5 stars because as an XL it could be a little wider, deeper and higher. My knees hit the front, if the sides were any closer I would be hitting the elements, and I have to slouch a little otherwise it feels like it is pulling. If I had ordered a regular sized one it would be on its way back without having been used. The sauna heats up quickly and does what it should, I have not measured the heat output as others have but it gets hot, I do sweat, and that is the objective. I am hoping that the heat will take care of a few of my minor aches and pains that I have acquired over the years (I am 67). I plan on using 4 to 5 times a week and have a quiet room set-up for a little heat, meditation, and music. Great wind-down at the end of the day.

so good! I have had the sauna for three weeks ...
So far, so good! I have had the sauna for three weeks and I use it regularly. It works well and seems to be well made. Set up was really easy and it can be moved about quickly.

Excellent portable sauna and even better customer service!
This portable sauna is amazing. It arrived a day earlier. When I received the package, a component was damaged because the package had shipping damage. The manufacturer did an awesome job of hearing my issue and replacing the component fast and with no additional cost to me. I was really impressed with this product and the customer service provided. The unit operates just as good if not better than the saunas you find at spas. It included a chair and heats up within 5 minutes! I will certainly be purchasing this unit again as a gift for a family member.

Great product! Just make sure you lock the door while using this. I walked in on my sister and she looks so ridiculous with just her head popping out, I had to snap pictures and save it for this year Christmas card.
