This was one of the simplest items that I have setup in a long time. It comes with the magnetic bases for wall or cabinet mounting. I saw some people have issues with claiming the product because it was refurbished - I had the same issue but it was super easy to fix. I did a live chat online with a netgear rep and had it taken care of in a matter of minutes. I can now monitor my home from my phone from anywhere in the world. Very cool and comforting.

Best camera for the money
As an owner or tester of other cameras (nest, cpi, dlink, cheaper chinese brands) I definitely rate the Arlo as best value for price. For what specs and features the Arlo has and at the price point of around $100 they are the best. Ease of setup, nice application interface that is easy to use and setup with alot of customization, nice design-all check. I haven't had them long enough to comment on the battery life but research shows me the average of 5-6 months and my brother in law corroborates this as he has been using a 3 Arlo system for about 1 year now.

This is an update to my earlier review of the ARLO Camera System. I have two 5 Camera Arlo systems.
If you are always on-site or have someone available to reboot and reset this system then it will probably work for you. Both systems have a tendency to go offline randomly and there is no discernable reason for them to do so. Arlo Support claims it's a router problem. That's their standard response, blame the other guy.
Well, I have two systems 1,100 miles apart with 2 completely different routers and two completely different ISP and I have the same problem continually with both systems. Today in the North the system was offline at 06:00. Numerous other things connected to the same router were all connected and working. This Netgear base station had to be rebooted and it came back online.
The South system has been offline since 7/28/2017 and I had to travel there to see what went wrong. I found the three led lit correctly in green on the base station. (The second, or middle led, tells you it is connected to the internet) I shut it down, found everything else connected to this FIOS router was working fine. I reset the router and rebooted the base station and in a few minutes it came back online. BUT! The cameras did not. WHY? Because the batteries had been drained till dead as they continually tried to connect to this base station.
The CR123 batteries are extremely expensive and the lowest unit cost you will find on 2DayDeliver today is $1.12 each. If you ran up to the local hardware you will get nailed for about $4.50 each. Needless to say you are on your own for this cost. 5 cameras with dead batteries because of this screwed up base station will cost you at least $23.00 and potentially $90.00 if you get dinged at the local hardware supply.
The costs for a security breach because ARLO is not reliable cannot be calculated.
From my perspective this is a firmware failure, or a design omission, in the ARLO Base Station; and NETGEAR/ARLO should step up and fix it.
Until they do I cannot recommend ARLO and suggest you consider another system. I will be installing a different reliable system at my locations over the next week or so, and will have to write off this ARLO stuff as an expensive lesson in wasted money.
My reading of the ARLO Community Blog indicates I am not alone in this problem. Perhaps a sharp attorney will read this review and a class action may ensue. If so, look me up as a damaged party.

I see all. Dot buy surefire 123a's
Advice:do not get the suggested cr123 from amazon. Just dont. Get the Edisons. Great cameras GREAT. I have 5 set up outside my apartment. I SEE EVERYTHING. Dumpster caught on fire, I saw it. Hoodlum kids, I saw them. Door to door salesmen, I saw them.

So it is a good camera if you are not using it to secure ...
Bought this a security cam for a condo in Mexico. Set it up 10/2017. It stopped working 01/2018. I am back in the US and the Arlo support staff says I need to be at the camera to troubleshoot. I won't be back in Mexico until 04/2018, so my condo will be unsecured until then. The support staff also said that they would have to send the replacement device to USA address, if they determine hardware problem -which means more trips ($$) from US to Mexico and back to try and get the Arlo working. If the device was reliable, it wouldn't have stopped working in less than 3 months. So it is a good camera if you are not using it to secure a property far away, and if you like troubleshooting hardware issues. Otherwise I would look for a more reliable system.

Setup is easy and doesn't take long
Ordered two of these, but after several days the first one developed a fault that caused the IR to remain on during the day resulting in images with a pink tint. After some Arlo-guided troubleshooting Arlo replaced the camera for me. Couple of weeks later the second camera has now developed the same fault.
Setup is easy and doesn't take long, and the picture quality is pretty good, but there appears to be a lag time between the camera being triggered and the start of the recording, which means that some 'visitors' are missed and not captured on the camera.

Not always dependable.
Product worked great at first. Easy setup but my cameras have shut down twice in the past 35 days. Netgear tech support is very good, but I need to be able to depend on this system not only for security but for safety and medical purposes. My husband had a stroke 22 month ago and the cameras have helped us both have a little more freedom when they are working. Not sure if we are going to be able to use this product. I guess time will tell.
