Great battery case for travel but with some limitations to be aware of.
Overall this is a great battery case for the iPhone 7 but it does have some draw backs that you should be aware of before purchasing as they are not plainly stated limitations in the product description.
This is a well designed case that holds the phone well with very clean lines and a finish that blends well with the premium feel of my iPhone 7. This is largely helped by the top slide in design that has a very positive engagement so it's very solid. The battery will provide a full charge to my iPhone 7 so I can go quite some time without worrying about having to plug in which is really handy when traveling or just out and about. I don't like to plug my phone in until I'm down under 5% and my phones have always held reasonably good battery life (I know li-ion batteries are suppose to be memory free but my phone batteries always outlast everyone else's so I'll keep doing what works for me). If I'm going out for the evening and have 15% battery life, I now have no worries as I can just keep an eye on my phone and when it hits 5%, I turn the case on and now I'm charging wherever I am. Being that it has a battery in it, it obviously takes up some space and will increase the overall size of the phone but if you want a battery case, that is par for the course. Ultimately this is designed to protect the phone and provide a battery backup and it does a great job at both of these!
So the new iPhone 7 does not have a 3.5 mm mini-jack and comes with a Lightning adapter if you want to use wired headphones. Obviously Bluetooth headphones are an option but come with their own set of challenges. At my office, we recently switched to a "nomad" desk setup where you just grab any open desk and all landlines have been removed. After a couple of hours of conference call meetings on my Bluetooth headset I usually need to switch over to my wired earbuds while I recharge the Bluetooth headset. Herein lies the problem. The case plugs into the phone via the Lightning connection but the outside of the case connects via USB Micro-B. This means that all of your Lightning chargers will not work so you will need USB Micro-B chargers. This also means that there is no longer a solution to use wired headphones while the case is attached. For me and my situation at work this does provide a challenge. When my Bluetooth headset needs to be charged, I need to remove the phone from the case so I can use wired earbuds. An ideal solution for consumers would be to make the external connection of the case a Lighting female port but I'm assuming licensing from Apple was cost prohibitive or simply denied by Apple. An adjacent option would be to have a 3.5 mm mini-jack headphone port on the battery case that would operate much like the Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm converter included with the iPhone 7. This would actually increase the utility of the phone over it's current configuration by eliminating the need to not lose the little adapter. The last option would be a USB Micro-B to 3.5 mm mini-jack adapter to plug into the case but this seems like as bad of an idea as Apple's adapter solution.
In summary, I will probably end up using this case on an as needed basis but not as part of my daily use due to my headphone/conference call usage at work. If I'm traveling or heading out on the town, my iPhone will certainly be snugly nestled in this protective case with a whole charge waiting at the ready.

Really good charging case with some caveats
I recently bought this BX180 charging case from Alpatronics and it's really great except for a few key points I would recommend this as a suitable case for any of my friends who have an iPhone 7. As many know, the iPhone 7’s battery will probably last most people almost a whole day. But for those of us who are power users with days full of conference calls and constant use, waiting even a little bit of time for your phone to charge because you've drained it is almost intolerable. This case does solve that. However, cases like those from Mophie and others do so as well.
-This battery case adds about 12hrs steady use with no need to charge
-You can use the very common micro USB charging cord
-The case is slimmer than my Mophie case
-The case has a raised lip around the screen which protects your phone from falls
- The case uses the lighting port and thus covers it. If you do not want to always use Bluetooth headsets you are out of luck. This became a problem when I needed to plug into a sound system in a non-bluetooth speaker. YMMV.
-The case did not come in a variety of color choices which I did not think would matter but the finish on the case really shows finger prints. Also I went through the trouble to pick out a phone which is a color I like but now is covered up with generic black matte. (For example by comparison my Mophie case is my favorite color)
-The battery seems to take longer than my other case to recharge
All in all for the price it's a good charging case. I recommend you get two if you need to be away from an outlet for more than a day.

Worth it for extra battery power
This case is the second one I have bought from Alpatronix. The first was for my iPhone 6 and it lasted longer than the phone did. It was convenient to charge the phone and the case at the same time, and know that I always had back-up battery if I needed it. After owning one and getting used to having that extra battery when you're away from your charger, it's hard to be without that.
My favorite features of this case are that it is light and low-profile, lets you know how charged the case is, and can be turned on and off as needed (so you can charge up a little and save some battery for later, or stop charging when your phone hits 100%).
The only thing that I would change would be to add a port for the lightning cable, so I can use this with headphones or with the other cables I already have. Maybe add both ports to the design in the future?

Alpatronix built a name for itself as a manufacturer of great iPhone cases
It seems that while we weren't paying attention, Alpatronix built a name for itself as a manufacturer of great iPhone cases. This is the third Alpatronix case I've owned, and I can say that while the first one (for an iPhone 5s) was great, this one improves over the previous design by leaps and bounds. There are a lot of benefits to putting this case on your 7. First, the benefit of extended battery life. I've heard it's not good to keep your phone plugged in (like I do at my desk), but I'm always afraid I'll run out of battery sometime when I need it. The answer is here: additional power only when you need it, available for you at the push of a button. Obviously performance depends on the age of your battery, what you're doing with your phone, cell signal, and I've heard how often you charge it, etc., but a 3200MAH battery is nothing to sneeze at. Second, you have good protection on your phone with a fairly small and light form factor. The case weighs 3.3 ounces, which to my taste makes the phone feel more solid. It has a slightly rubberized plastic on the back. Third, you have the benefit of a micro USB connector for data and charging. I know some have critiqued the fact that there's no lightning connector to charge this case, but understand that this normalizes charging. The charger I keep for my bluetooth speaker and Kindle suddenly works for my iPhone too. I think one connector instead of two is a very good thing. If you're in the market for a case or for an extra battery, this is worthy of your consideration.

Sturdy battery case
The battery case for iPhone 7 feels very sturdy and the top and bottom pieces of the case connect snugly together.
The charger and phone can charge easily overnight and provide an entire additional charge for the phone the next day. Just press the button to turn on or off the charger. I like that you have to hold the button for 4 seconds to activate it. One press only shows the battery level. (The last case I had would just go on randomly with one accidental press and be used up when I expected it to be available to use.)
I have dropped the case/phone in multiple ways and many times and both are still in good condition.
The only con is the charger provided is only 18 inches long; I would have preferred a longer one.
The customer service team was very responsive even after normal business hours on a Friday.
Update 5 months later: The device gave me some issues. There was a period where it would not charge my phone even though it had a full charge. Now the case has stopped working. It is dead and I cannot get it to charge itself at all. I have initiated a warranty claim with Alpatronix. They have instructed me to mail, at my cost, the device to them so they can repair/replace it. While this isn't a horrible experience, being left without a case for the time it takes to mail something, have it reviewed, and receive it again in the mail, is not convenient.

Great with the camera and screen protectors
The Alpatronix battery case for the iPhone 7 is definitely a recommended buy. The thing that I appreciate the most, is that I can use a glass screen protector with it. I usually have issues using certain cases in general, because it starts to lift up the edges on my iPhone screen protector or it does not fit at all.
I also appreciated that the way that you enclose the iPhone is by slipping a top case on the phone, rather than snapping on a front piece (such as a bumper) because it ultimately makes it safer in drops, since the phone is less likely to pop out. Additionally, the top portion works well with the camera flash.
Now to the battery itself.. its great! It can get me through a few days. It is a bit heavier than the phone itself, but it’s not something unbearable. It is fairly compact and the micro usb charge location is in a decent location.
What would I change? The lightning port..
The one thing that did frustrate me fell on both Alpatronix and Apple. I often use my headphones (wired) with my phone. What I found with this case is that you cannot use your lightning headphones or adapter, since the charger is a micro-usb rather than the lightning port. In these cases, I just use my bluetooth headphones. It would be convenient if this case would use a lightning port, rather than the micro-usb, but solely for the purpose of using my lightning headphones or adapter.
Definitely recommend this case overall.

Another great Alpatronix product- lightweight and long lasting external battery with the BX180.
I have used Alpatronix products for some time and find them to be high quality offerings with great customer service. The iPhone 7 Battery Case (BX180) is no exception. Right out of the box, it makes an impression- a matte black, sleek, lightweight case that the iPhone fits into easily. It is comfortable to hold and has a non -slip surface. The cutout openings fit the buttons precisely, allowing easy operation of the phone and adds minimal bulk or weight to my iPhone (that's how I like it!) . The power button on the back of the case is easy to turn on and the LED light instantly shows me the charge amount remaining. An included cable connects to my computer for charging and can also be used for a wall charger. The battery case slips on and off seamlessly, a big plus when you want to remove your iPhone from it. The increased battery charge allows me hours more of talk, text time and surfing the internet. Another great Alpatronix product- highly recommend. Oh yes, the price is quite reasonable.
on 2017-06-29 Excellent!
I've purchased Alpatronix battery cases before and have been very pleased as I am with my latest. iPhone 7 Battery Case, Alpatronix BX180 4.7-inch 3200mAh Slim Rechargeable Extended Protective Portable Charging Case for iPhone 7 Charger Juice Bank Power Pack [Apple Certified Chip, iOS 10+] - Black
I first purchased an Alpatronix battery case for my iPhone 5s. That one worked so well for me, I purchased one for my iPhone 6s. Now you're thinking this is for the iPhone 7. Yes it is but it fits the 6s beautifully. Only drawback is the headphone jack is not accessible. Although I think you could drill the hole out (I might try that, probably void the warranty though). I use bluetooth headphones anyway so all is good.
What I like the most about this case is the 2 piece fit. This case is SOLID! and a secure fit. The buttons work great and the charge port fits excellent. I used to have a different brand case that attached the battery with a bumper. One small drop of the phone and the bumper would pop off and over a short period of time the bumper stopped snapping into the battery portion of the case. That is not what will happen with this case, I love the fit to the phone. It has just enough of a lip to protect the face of the phone. It's about as slim as a battery case can get.
If you're looking for the negatives to it...weight, but all battery cases make your phone heavier.
If you're looking for a batter case for your iPhone7, you found the right product!

Solid, well made case
For the most part, this Alpatronix battery case is an excellent solution for those who have battery challenged iphone dilemmas. It's pretty nice looking and has the protection aspects comparable to most other iphone cases. The battery case is also fairly easy to take on and off the iphone although it can me a little tough at first until you get used to it. It functions well as a back up charger and having it built into the case is pretty cool. You can also charge the phone and charger( via the USB charger) case at the same time while plugged into the wall. The USB will charge the phone first, then the case.
There are a few minor cons to deal with. First, the case is pretty heavy and will basically double the weight of your phone. I guess batteries have weight so it's trade off . Second, the case seems to automatically go into “charging” mode on its own from time to time. Haven’t figured out why yet but it’s happenend a few times already. Third, I really wish this case charged using an iPhone cable. It's kind of a hassle to require a different cable that most friends won't have and a house like mine has a bunch of Iphone cables lying around that can't be used. I mean, you can take your iphone out of the case to use a regular Iphone cord but it's just an area where this case could improve, thus the 4 star rating. Overall, a good value and a well made product!

Great case, pretty good battery with small issues.
I also have this case for the iPhone 7+. Adding this to the iPhone 7 as opposed to the plus doesn't add as much weight, probably because the battery is smaller.
I think the case will protect the phone in a fall, and the sides of the case raise above the screen a little bit which should absorb impact if the phone falls screen first. The case also has a non-slip feel to it, making it grip your hand or desk.
I have the same issues with this battery that I do with the 7+ battery. It doesn't quick charge, making it take forever to fully charge the case's battery. The case will also charge your phone very often, making it hard to get the case fully charged. It takes up your lightning port and doesn't provide a headphone jack. I also wish the case charged via the lightning port instead of micro USB.
Overall though it is nice to not have to worry about charging my phone that often. I can easily make it a day to day and half without a charger.
