Excellent product for the cost and blows out all the other Smart TV's into the water. Highly recommended.
Our old TV was starting to show signs of aging, although it was usable, I was ready to dive into (well sort of) the new smart TV scene as our last one wasn't. We've owned Sony's since before I met my wife, and that was back in the mid 80's. There's a reason why they're in every major TV studio in the country. They're known for their beautiful picture.
Ordered this one instead of the more advanced Sony 800E 43" because I don't like Android anything. But I did want basic Smart TV. And this provided what I need-- 2DayDeliver Prime, Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, Pandora, and a lot more. Without the annoying Android interface. The interface runs very fast and is easy to navigate. I'm not too thrilled about the remote because it's a bit of a learning curve to learn how to use the two circles of buttons around the center Enter button. But once I got it down I can do it in the dark now.
The initial setup was easy. Sony found my wifi network with no problem. I enter security challenges and was in. Eventually i'm going to add a Cat6 cable instead of wifi. Faster, and more secure. On to the picture setup. The picture is beautiful out of the box. I left it on Standard video display but boosted the Black function a bit and took a few notches off the color level. It was just too saturated for realism. The sound was nearly perfect except I turned on the equalizer and bumped up the last three high frequency levels nearly to full Turned up 100, 200, and 300Hz a couple notches. Then I boosted the "Volume Offset" from 50% to 100%. The sound is excellent now.You have to increase the volume offset or it will sound quiet. I think a lot of customers didn't follow through with all the settings. The factory settings are only a starting point. But if you go through every menu and tune each item to your liking, you will really love the final results of this TV.
I toyed around with trying the new TCL TV's due to the built-in Roku system which seems to get a lot of love by customers, but I watched a few youTube videos about the new TCL's and in picture quality the Sony exceeded TCL. I'm mainly watching my TV for the picture quality.
The TV itself arrived in a heavy duty Sony box delivered kindly by your local FedEx guy. Unboxing, it took about 30 minutes of slow, careful setup and reading all the getting started literature first. Now that it's set up I can say with conviction that the 4K standard is truly light years ahead of HD. I thought HD was beautiful, but even watching older standard DVD's the TV upscales them and makes them look gorgeous. Hard to believe we got such a beautiful TV for such a good price. I could have saved one hundred clams ordering on the following Monday (Cyber Monday) but I had already ordered on Black Friday and the TV's price was already dropped. Next year another Sony for the bedroom but it will be ordered on Cyber Monday.
This Sony is easy for wife to use. It automatically paired with our Tivo remote but I still use the Sony Remote to go to Netflix, 2DayDeliver Prime, and YouTube when wife is in the bedroom. She hates technology but actually loves the new TV.
This product is highly recommended. It will give the best picture over LG, TCL, Samsung, you name it. And in the settings menu, there's an 800 number to call while it displays the serial number for you. Buy this and you will be smiling a long time.

Pretty nice TV!
I haven't bought a TV in awhile, but this one seems to check all the boxes. The picture is quite nice and it's really light for its size (43" is only 20 pounds or so, I can pick it up with one hand). I didn't want a bunch of "smart" features since I plan to keep this TV longer than those would stay relevant, but actually the YouTube and Netflix apps are pretty handy since my AppleTV isn't 4K compatible. I also really like the "voice zoom" feature under audio settings; it controls the volume of voices relative to everything else. I use it to turn down commentators all the way in football games when I just want background noise, it's great! My only real complaints are that the remote is too light (I wish it had just a bit more heft to it) and that it only has 3 HDMI ports. Between an AppleTV, gaming consoles, laptops, etc. it would have been really nice to see a couple more of those.
I was a little worried before I bought it when another reviewer mentioned that his/her TV clicked when powering on/off, but mine doesn't do that.

As a PC Monitor, THE BEST under 55"
Purchased this at another retailer, but noticed some negative reviews here. I have a somewhat niche use-case, but it may apply to others. As a software developer, I was looking for a 4K monitor larger than 40". I was initially looking at an LG 43" but that still left text a little small on screen. As an alternative started looking at 4K UHD TV's to use instead. Started with reviews on RTINGS.com and this TV had the highest rating for TV's under 55" for use as a PC Monitor. Initially purchased a TCL P607 55" TV, but it was too large for me to use as a monitor, the pixels had strange dim spots between them, and being so large with a narrow viewing-angle, the edges of the screen were noticeably darker. Swapped that TV out for this one with a slightly smaller screen at 49", I don't need to move my head to see everything on the screen from about 3' away and the viewing angle is much larger with no dimming around the edges. The strange dim spots between pixels in the 55" TCL are not present in this TV. Up close use as a PC Monitor is excellent, as a TV I knew it wouldn't be the brightest or have great blacks, but as a 4K TV under 55" to use as a PC Monitor, this model is unmatched.

Excellent TV to use as a computer monitor.
I use this TV as a computer monitor. I do cad-like drawing and I also do proposals. I am amazed how clear and crisp this monitor is. Finally, I was using my 55" TV as a monitor for a while but the lag was almost a full second (felt like it). This monitor has almost no lag, and thus it feels responsive, sharp and believe me, 43" is a looooot of real estate. I cannot imagine needing anything bigger.
So given how good this TV is, I don't know other are still buying $1,000+ monitors .....

Great TV for the money. Deep black, vivid colors, great refresh speed. Easy to navigate the apps.... No issues at all. Fingers crossed it lasts!

SONY BEATS SAMSUNG
So far, this Sony TV is outstanding. The 4k picture is beautiful, and I can see lots of details that were invisible to me before — even in non-4k content. And at 55 inches, the large screen is a great benefit to my elderly mom.
As others have said, the sound is weak. I’m sure the manufacturer assumes that anyone buying a 4k TV will also buy a soundbar, and I intend to do so once I research the options. Meanwhile, though, I used the “Voice Zoom” feature to increase volume on vocal frequencies, lifting them a little above the background sound. It helps quite a bit, and is a big help to my mom — Voice Zoom makes it easier for her to hear and understand.
The packaging has a brilliant “lift-off” carton design that made it possible for me (a woman over 60) to unpack, assemble, and place this very large TV on the shelf without help. I did have a question while running the cords, but Sony’s tech support line resolved it quickly and pleasantly.
IMPORTANT: Before investing in this Sony, I bought a slightly less expensive Samsung. It was a disappointment from the start. The base was fairly flimsy and required a slide-together assembly technique that was impossible without assistance. It’s easier to perform that step with the TV on its face, but then the stand gets in the way when you try to lift it onto the shelf. And once I had gotten the TV into place, I still felt the stand was not stable enough for my peace of mind.
The Samsung remote control was a work of art — sleek black curves, very few buttons. But I don’t want a work of art! I want a functional remote that’s easy to use and gives me direct access to as many functions as possible. (Sony’s is excellent.)
At one point, I had to call Samsung’s tech support, and it was an extremely frustrating experience with someone who was bored, indifferent, and unable to respond beyond reading from his boiler-plate script. That was the last straw.
I returned the Samsung, and expected to wait a week or more to have the money credited to my account so I could order the Sony — but 2DayDeliver processed my refund almost immediately, and I had the new TV by Christmas after all!
So... I heartily recommend Sony over Samsung. Sony is a better-designed TV, backed up by better tech support. And the picture is dazzling!

Happy with purchase.
We've been using the TV for several months and love it. I haven't noticed any clicking as others have mentioned. Easy to assemble and very easy to set up. If I had an issue it's that our old TV had a matte screen and this one is glossy which leads to glare and reflections.

This display is out of sight!
...and by out of sight I mean it’s outstanding. Mine came in perfect condition, which I am very grateful for. It’s always a gamble making these kinds of purchases online but I’m glad I did it.
Both of my old TVs are from the late 2000’s; they’re “HD”, but it’s like the first gen HD. This bad boy blew me away with the whole package!
I got a kick out of the first instruction being literally on the top of the box telling you to read the instructions. Haha! The instructions are taped to the box so when you open it they are right in your face.
The 49” doesn’t weigh very much. The stand mounted quickly and easily. The set up menus were also easy.
The presence of it compared to the bulky Samsung DLP it’s replacing is dramatic. It’s so minimalist with its slim bezels and the cable management built into the stand adds a very nice touch. It’s so thin I was worried about breaking it while I was unboxing. It’s a Sony though, so you know it’s top shelf. The remote controlled my Fire TV right out of the box.
The Linux based smart TV menus are nicer than some reviewers might lead you to believe. It’s not Android TV, but it still works great.
If you’re not using external sound then make sure you switch the sound mode for the built in speakers to music mode if you are going to listen to music. It makes all the difference.
My only gripe is that it only has 2.4GHz WiFi capability and not 5GHz. Not a deal breaker because I have a Nighthawk X4 so it’s a moot point for me *but* I can see it causing picture degradation for people who don’t have very good WiFi routers and want to stream 4K.
Overall I am extremely satisfied with this display.
10/10 would buy again.

Very cloudy on dark scenes
The picture quality was decent but the backlight/clouding was terrible. Once you see it, it's hard not to notice it. It is very noticeable while watching in a dark room and almost all dark scenes. If this doesn't bother you then this is a good value buy. I could not deal with it so I went with the Sony X900E. I highly recommend the Sony X900E as there is no clouding issue and picture and color quality is outstanding.

Well I bought this TV on March 14. THe ...
Well I bought this TV on March 14. THe return window closed on April 13. And the support window closed on May 13. And on May 15 the screen started blacking out. It works normally for a few minutes, then the screen goes black for 1 second and then comes back on 10 seconds later it goes black for one second and immediatly comes back on. And this continues. All channels. All HDMI inputs. Even Internet 2DayDeliver Video or YouTube.
I have grown to trust both Sony and AMazon. In this case I find 2DayDeliver's cavallier return and support windows ridiculous. I've bought on 2DayDeliver since 1996. I've never heard of either. And so they must KNOW this TV is a problem. And Sony, which used to be a gold standard, apparently isn't. When I googled the problem THOUSANDS are experiencing this same problem and nowhere does a solution appear beyond replacing the TV.
DON'T BUY this. And you should SERIOUSLY REVIEW any plans to purchase anything major from 2DayDeliver itself. They have quietly made a COMMAND LEVEL DECISION TO NOT BE TRUSTED.
Why? I can't imagine. But beware this TV model and be very careful with AMazon. I had no idea they would just leave me hanging. I'll purchase a replacement from a REPUTABLE FIRM!
