Easy to use, inexpensive scanner.
If you want an easy to use, inexpensive scanner, this one is great. Worked on a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, 2008 Toyota Yaris sedan, and a 1998 Honda Civic. Not tricky to use at all. Cable long enough to get the unit up where you can work with it and the display is easy to read. The menus are straightforward.

Perfect for what I use it for
Very simple to use. Follow the steps, and thats it. Perfect for what I use it for. Instead of driving the car to Autozone, (Even though its free) its still a pain to drive it there, wait in line, ask the person to walk out with you, plug it in and then tell you the problem.
Something that can be identifed in less than 5 min...or take 30 - 40 min to diagnose the problem? For me I take the former. (Thanks for the correction....)

Most valuable tool a home mechanic needs!
Very simple to use, it helped me identify problems in a 2004 BMW, and a 2001 Porsche. I was checking readiness of the smog system since they had battery changes in the past few months, and they won't pass smog until a drive cycle is done. Saved time at the smog station as well!

Doesn't get much easier than this. Plug it in, turn the key to on and it reads any codes active. Says what is probably wrong and just delete if interested. I don't think one needs go all out on a fancy one, if its serious you'll end up in the shop anyway.

No-Brainer for the DIYer
I have purchased two of these. One black one for myself. One orange one for my father. You can regularly find this model for <$20. Even at $35 it is still worth it! I'm a DIYer whenever I am able and can't stand having to pay for someone to read an error code. Frankly for as much as vehicles cost, these should be included in your purchase.
I read codes and help neighbors with their vehicles a lot. E-Vap system codes and Coolant system codes are the majority of what I've been about to diagnose and fix with this thing. Those are easy fixes for home mechanics that would have cost at least $200 minimum through a pro shop. Scanners are well worth the cost. And this one, although plain, has worked every time I've used it.

I bought this model for a few reasons:
1) it offered next day shipping.
2) it displays more than just a code number on the display.
3) it had 4 buttons instead of two, which meant navigation would be easier.
There are cheaper models that display just the code, and then you can search the code on the internet.
While I still searched for the codes here so I could better understand them, it was a nice peace of mind that when I found the code online, the description on the Ancel AD310 matched what I found so I knew I had the right code.
Even if you have no intention of fixing the car yourself, it can be nice to have one of these to know what is wrong BEFORE you take your car in.

Product was very easy to use and arrived in good condition and very quickly. Display was easy to read and a long cord is a nice feature.

For the price, you can't beat it. It allows you to scan codes; it explains codes; and can clear codes once you fixed the issue in your vehicle. The tool also provides vehicle status info at the given time, and has a mini-USB outlet on the bottom (I assume that's to connect it to a PC). Not an expert on vehicle ECU stats, but the tool gets the job done. No batteries required as it runs off the power from the vehicle. Highly recommended.

My check engine light came on, disconnected my battery to clear the alarm thinking it would come back on.(but it didn't so far ) Ordered the OBD on Monday and got it on Thursday (great service) Hooked it up to my truck and went through the menu seems easy enough to use. Oh! one thing would be nice if the manual print was bigger.
